It seems to me, although I don't remember it very well (I'm getting old, I often forget things) that I started photographing windows and doors about 12 years ago. Since then windows (more than doors) have had a sort of photographic idyll...

Me parece, aunque no lo recuerdo muy bien (me estoy haciendo viejo, olvido las cosas frecuentemente) que comencé a fotografiar ventanas y puertas hace unos 12 años atrás. Desde entones las ventanas (más que las puertas) tenemos una especie de idilio fotográfico...

Some say that the windows are a "photographic cliché"... True, maybe, I'm not saying they are not... But that doesn't mean they don't have an enormous charm for us photographers. I don't know for sure what makes them so attractive, but it seems to me that many of them have their own personality, they also say a lot about what is going on behind them and in front of them. They are like a kind of "portals" to be photographed. I don't know, that's what it seems to me...

Algunos dicen que las ventanas son un "cliché fotográfico"... Es cierto, puede ser, no digo que no lo sean... Pero no debido a eso dejan de tener un encanto enorme para nosotros los fotógrafos. Desconozco a ciencia cierta qué cosa las hace tan atractivas, pero a mi me parece que muchas de ellas tienen personalidad propia, también dicen mucho de cuanto sucede detrás de ellas y adelante de ellas. Son como una especie de "portales" para ser fotografiados. No sé, eso es lo que a mi me parece...

Besides, windows have that typical "collectible" look, so photographing them is naturally attractive... Another interesting thing is that a window photograph is an ensemble of the window itself and the elements on the walls around it. This is especially true for facades affected by deterioration and weathering (as are many of the ones I have here).

Además, las ventanas tienen ese aspecto típico de las cosas "coleccionables" entones fotografiarlas es algo naturalmente atractivo... Otra cosa interesantes es que una fotografía de ventana es un conjunto de la ventana en si misma y de los elementos en las paredes a su alrededor. I tend to photograph windows almost every time I go out for street photography. But I also have days, every few months, during which I go out to take mainly window (and sometimes door) photographs, so my hard drives are full of many such photographs.

Suelo fotografiar ventanas casi siempre que salgo a por fotografías callejeras. Pero también tengo días, cada cierta cantidad de meses, durante los cuales suelo salir a hacer principalmente fotos de ventanas (y a veces puertas) Así que mis discos duros están repletos de muchas fotografías de este tipo.

A veces se trata de fotos de las mismas ventanas de siempre, otras veces son ventanas de cuya existencia no me había percatado. También, con el paso de los años y muchas horas haciendo fotos en las calles, he aprendido que una ventana o una puerta puede lucir muy diferente durante una mañana nublada a como luce en una tarde soleada. Entonces, puedo decir sin temor a equivocarme, que una misma ventana puede brindarnos distintas fotos durante un mismo día...

_{ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.}
