Today the morning was radiant, a perfectly clear sky and a warm sun shining on the horizon, added efforts to make the colors of the sometimes faded streets of Montalbán, look bright and caress the eyes of all... For a moment I remembered that phrase my grandfather used to say when I was a young boy: “The December sun has arrived”...
Hoy la mañana estuvo radiante, un cielo perfectamente despejado y un sol cálido despuntando en el horizonte, sumaron esfuerzos para hacer que los colores de las aveces vetustas calles de Montalbán, luciesen brillantes y acariciasen la mirada de todos... Por un momento recordé aquella frase que decía mi abuelo cuando yo era un niño: "Llegó el sol de Diciembre"...
My friend Humberto's old green motorcycle looked today “greener than ever before”... My friend Carlos (Alias: “Cacho'e Chivo”) appeared waving in a corner with an old pink t-shirt and a strange blue felt hat, it seems that he also wanted to join the colorful comparsa of the morning. Also the facade of our old church was being restored and painted in a beautiful colonial yellow color.... Undoubtedly, this town and I are very much alike; one day we can be gray, foggy and faded and the next day it can be something like this colorful morning.... That's the way life is here, that's the way it's always been for as long as I can remember!....
La vieja moto verde de mi amigo Humberto parecía hoy "más verde que nunca antes"... Mi amigo Carlos (Alias: "Cacho'e Chivo") apareció saludando en una esquina con una vieja remera rosada y un extraño sombrero de fieltro azul, tal parece que él también quería unirse a la comparsa colorida de la mañana. También la fachada de nuestra vieja iglesia estaba siendo restaurada y pintada con un hermoso color amarillo colonial... Indudablemente, este pueblo y yo nos parecemos mucho; un día podemos estar grises, cubiertos de niebla y descoloridos y al día siguiente puede suceder algo así como estas mañana colorida... ¡Así es la vida aquí, así ha sido siempre desde que tengo uso de razón!...
Fortunately I had my camera with me when I went out to buy some supplies for our house... Although if I hadn't taken it with me, I would surely have gone back to get it!... The colors, even in the old things in the streets, seemed to be different today, and the “chromatic pictorialism” was in every detail seen and -obviously- in a small cat peeping out of the crack of a peeling wall...
Afortunadamente llevaba mi cámara conmigo cuando salí a comprar víveres para nuestra casa... ¡Aunque si no la hubiese llevado conmigo, seguramente habría regresado a buscarla!... Los colores, inclusos en las cosas viejas en las calles, parecían ser otros hoy, y el "pictorialismo cromático" estaba en cada detalle visto y -obviamente- en un pequeño gato asomado en la grieta de una pared con escarapeles...

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.
NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape 3.6.3.
