En estas latitudes. ¨Corrientes¨¨Argentina¨ hemos encontrado varias especies de ellos. En esta oportunidad, y por su apariencia me animo a decir que se trata de la especie conocida como ¨Pycnoporus sanguineus¨: esta variedad se desarrolla muy bien en lugares con el clima ¨tipo¨¨tropical¨ como el nuestro. Como todas las especies crecen muy bien en maderas y ramas que se están pudriendo. Aquí no les damos mucho uso, he leído que en otras partes del mundo le dan muchas utilidades ya que sirven para muchas cosas, entre ellos medicinal. Como pueden observar son hongos que se pueden encontrar solo o en pareja, hasta ahora nunca lo hemos encontrado en colonias
