Yesterday, the 28th of June, was a Matariki public holiday in New Zealand. Yeah, some of you are only waking up to the 28th now, we live in the future here 😀
Jokes aside, it was a beautiful holiday with lights displayed in the city center across the country. Here in Christchurch, I went out after dinner to see the lights, and wow, I was amazed at how the city was packed with people out to celebrate and take photos 📸
The Matariki holiday is a Maori celebration of the stars, and it also means a time to be thankful for harvest.
This is my first Matariki celebration in NZ, I hope to celebrate a lot more.
