Do you have some unfinished projects now? If yes, it's normal. But how many WIPs do you have for now? One? Two? Three? It is still fine. But what if it's more than 10 going to 20 pieces? 😅
It happens a lot, whenever I came up with a new design while having my MTO (made to order) projects. I just can't continue my mto (sometimes) without trying the 'new design' that had come to my mind. But then in the middle of doing that 'new design' into the actual one, I will then realize the importance of doing first the MTO, because of the time frame given to my client. Or whenever the great passion for doing the 'new design' will subside and I was able to see that it's not the exact design that I had in mind. Oh my! And that means I had to frog it from the very beginning and do some adjustments in there and over here.
But wait, I still have that MTO, so I'll just leave it there hanging for a while, I said. And I think I said that all the time whenever I leave a wip. But that MEANTIME became a long time. And I feel awful and my conscience keeps reminding me to sort them or finished them one by one. Throwing was not my choice so I had to decide to start doing the unfinished projects.
So today, I would like to share with you this crocheted dark green wide-leg short that I think I started a month ago. I was thinking to make the actual human-size version of the crocheted outfit of my doll that I was able to share here months ago. And this is not meant to be a short but a jumpsuit though I was having a problem with the yarns I used because the supplier didn't have any stocks left for that specific shade of green.
So this is what it looks like after I leave it in a box. And I decided to make it a short instead of a jumpsuit.
I used a 2.75mm crochet hook and 4ply indophil yarn here.
The stitches I was here was double crochet-chain-double crochet-chain in every row. But on the waist area where I inserted a tie, I used 5 double crochet and back post double crochet on 5 rows.
After I continue until the 26th row here, which looks like a puff skirt, I measure the lower portion and looked for the middle area of the front and back, and made some increasing stitch that looks like this picture below. (Front and back portion)
After 5 layers of increasing on both sides, I connected both ends with chains and DC-chain-DC-chain that looks like this one.
Then I started working circular on one leg until it reached the right length and made an edging of single crochet with picots.
And finished the other side of the leg also using the same stitches.
And now it's done. Yes! One down, and more to go. At least it's a minus one and not a plus one. Haha! It's an achievement already and hoping I can continue this positive act of minimizing my WIPs.
As of now, I didn't know what kind of applique I would decorate in this short, but I made a crocheted flower applique and pinned it on the upper right corner of the short for the meantime until I canalize on what design I would place.
I was thinking of a white crocheted top and dark green crocheted summer hat (saas color of this short) to pair with this one. That is why I'm not sewing the flower applique yet and able to decide its final look.
But I would appreciate it if you will leave a comment on what type of appliques I should place on this short, o,n the top, and on the hat that I had in mind.🥰
Thank you for dropping by and God everyone.
Love lots,
