My niece KC @kcwonders and I "best friends". KC is sixteen years old, I am in my late twenties - somewhere along these lines one would consider it a tad awkward. But it wasn't always like this though, we became close only in recent years. Here is a little story time:
Growing up (we were in the same house) we used to be "enemies". KC's spoiled when she's little and I used to be maldita and immature as well. We had a few fights (understatement) haha. She was way closer to my sister Rica when she's little.
In summer of 2018 out of the randomness of life she approached me to share something. One important conversation led to a series of deep talks and this is what bonded us together. I love that she trusted me with this part of her life. 🥺🥰
Fast forward this 2022 and we have had X number of hours doing video calls and face-to-face catch up talks in a few cafés around town. KC and I share the love for coffee, yay. A couple of times it's my treat, some days we both buy our own, and there were a couple of instances when KC bought me cups of coffees. It was so sweet of my niece. Thank you ate KC. 🥺🥰 (We call her ate so that the other younger nieces of mine would do the same.)
I love that when we talk to each other I am that "mature" person (hehe:3) and I give pieces of advice to her, which she also heed and take note of. I appreciate that our niece-and-aunt relationship is this beautiful that it's developed into like a 'bestfriend' kind of tight-knit one. 💖
You would expect that when there are family gatherings we'd be seated near each other. We usually talk (or text, depends on situations lol) and make little comments or throw jokes around. I love that KC has a great sense of humour, and the way she gets my jokes - splendid. We might be corny or whatnot but so long as you laugh it's counted as a joke LMAO.
So when we went to Anjo world last weekend we were inseparable in all the rides. We rode the roller coaster for the first time - which was CRAAAZZZY and WILD and FANTASIC. 🎢We were scared at first when the seat belts were buckled but KC showed she was scared while I tried to keep my cool, so that I can encourage her that it's going to be alright. As soon as the ride started we were holding tight to our seats. When it launched we were shouting (like mad people HAHA) - as the coaster rolled I found my stomach into a knot, too. As we were upside down - WHOA THIS IS INSANE, I told myself. It was more or less two-minute ride but boy was it incredibly daredevil. 😈
KC and I had so much fun the rest of the afternoon. In between lines to the rides we caught up on her school schedule and my work on-goings. I love my niece. I hope we'd continue to be this close in the future. ✨
