Last Friday I went out to have coffee with my work buddy Joy. We were craving for croissants 🥐🥐 and since we were already in Ayala Mall we looked for a café inside. (We wanted to eat "the" strawberry ones at Merci but huhu it was too far and besides we were already hungry).
I suggested we go to Abáca - the one inside Rustan's. When we went there lots of people were inside the small café space, so I was a bit disappointed. It was a good thing that Joy said that we go to the other Abáca place instead. It was bigger so there's a high chance we could get seats. And so we went🤸
We were so happy when there were a couple of vacant seats, yay! We hurriedly made our orders as soon as one of the crew approached us. I felt a tad hot from all the walking so I ordered something with ice and seller for their bestselling cold brew. Joy wanted something hot so she got a latte.
As per usual I had their FREAKIN' DELICIOUS chocolate croissant while Joy ordered her "usual" ham and cheese. 🍫🥓🧀 We waited for about good five minutes before they served our orders.
Might I just say this: their cold brew is G-O-O-D. It was the first time I tried it - good job, Abáca! 👏
When it was all served we dug in and enjoyed every bite. When we were close to being full we got into a deep conversation.
Joy shared about her recent panic attacks. She said it's truly challenging and that she's having a hard time sleeping at night. I told her that I know of a psychologist if she wanted to have a consultation, she said she appreciates it, but she has one already and in fact about to go visit soon. I shared to her my recent challenge about the struggle with work and my clients. She had a few pieces of advice around it, and I'm so glad she's there. 🥺🥰
It was not a typical Friday and I love it for being atypical!❣️
