The Full Contact Sport Of Entrepreneurship

Sports analogies!

These are always fun :)

One of my favorites that I've stuck with for years and done countless talks about with the CTP community is comparing online entrepreneurship as a full contact sport.

Let's break this one down ;)

A lot people in my industry will tell you, they are 'serious' about building a business and or developing some kind of brand online.

They say all the right things, talk a great talk but when push comes to shove...They are nothing but spectators. They fill the seats and point their fingers at the athletes that are swinging the bat, or running on the field.

Why aren't these people jumping off the sidelines and into the game?

Because building a business online is a full contact sport!

Which means a few things:

It's Going To Hurt

Entrepreneurs sacrifice a lot to build businesses. Family time, leisure time...Sometimes they are made fun of by their closest peers and even family members.

At other times, they lose it all only to have to rebuild from scratch...It's not an easy journey!

Failure Is Almost Guaranteed

This is a tough pill to swallow for the spectators because, the idea that you are going to hit '100' when you step up to bat is just...A lie!

Think about the sport of baseball. A hall of fame career for a hitter would be a .300 average. That means every 10 times they step up to bat, they get a hit 3 times.

They FAIL 7 out of 10 times. And this exactly what it's like for many entrepreneurs. I have had countless 'swings and misses' in my career, heck more than I'd like to count. But I still keep swinging and every now and again, I connect and hit the ball!

Speaking Of Guarantees...There Are None!

A typical 9 to 5 job entails a 40 hour work week...You know, that if you go and punch that clock for those 40 hours, you are going to get a return for the time and effort you invest into that job.

Entrepreneurs can work more than double that...For the OPPORTUNITY, not the guarantee, of success.

That's insane for the majority of the working public because...If I can't guarantee my income, why would I even invest a second into any endeavour.

Again...Entrepreneurs embrace this fact and actually...Work harder to build something remarkable.

When You Get Hit By A Pitch, You Step Back In The Batter's Box

Let's stand in front of a 100 MPH fast ball, get hit on the shoulder from it and instead of running away...Let's step back in the batter's box and try again to hit the ball.

Translation...We are slightly stubborn but we never give up.

We keep trying, even when it hurts. Even when all signs point that the game is over. We show up, again and again!

But When It All Comes Down To It....

Most people just...Aren't entrepreneurs. They won't embrace the pain, the struggles, the hardships, the learning experiences, the failures....

And that's o.k.!

In fact, knowing that most of your competition will give up and aren't cut out for this...Actually keeps you, showing up and taking swings with the bat!

Because that next swing you take, might end up being the grand slam home run you'll been working so hard for...

You're right about many things. When we even think the life of 9 to 5ers are difficult, the truth is, people who are entrepreneurs give more time because it's their business and they'll give their blood and sweat to salvage it. It's quite easy to talk of strategies and to laugh at people who fails, the gut to even try knowing one might fail takes a lot of courage.

Ya man, so easy to point the finger and laugh at people when they fail at this stuff...Much harder to get into the arena and take the hits like a lot of us do every day

If it's actually easy, then everyone would be doing it. But the world hardly applaud guts especially if you've failed.

I respect all entrepreneurs at least they are trying to make a living off something they enjoy. They sacrifice short term money from 9-5pm in the hope of something better.

That's the truth! Sacrificing for the future pay offs!

I wouldn't really say I am a entrepreneur for those reasons but I wonder if that is changing because I am being consistent with Hive. Nothing is really guaranteed and it takes time to build your own base whether it be your Hive account or business.

I think content creating and engaging on this platform could be considered being in business for yourself. I mean, maybe it's not making a living yet for people, but it is a huge opportunity.

The people doing V2K want me to believe it is this lady @battleaxe Investigate what she has been up to for 5 years. Its the next step to stopping this. Make her prove where she has been for 5 years or where she is now. She is involved deeply with @fystikken and his group. I cant say she is the one directly doing the v2k. Make her prove it. They have tried to kill me and are still trying to kill me. I bet nobody does anything at all. Make @battleaxe prove it. I bet she wont. They want me to believe the v2k in me is being broadcasted from her location. @battleaxe what is your location? https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism

Keep on, keeping on!!

I absolutely agree. I was a spectator for far to long. Thinking small. I remember, in the past, and that could have been 10 years or 3 weeks ago. That I really did not believe or thought I new all.

I remember Jon telling me(everone) read read read books about business, entrepreneurs, etc. I rolled my eyes. Lol. Not any more.

Sometimes it take more than one person to wake you up, he'll I am in my 50s and I am just starting to wake up.

The icing on the cake that woke me up, along with Jon and everyone else on Hive that are crushing it was Grant Cardone. Love him or hate him he is successful and shows his shit.

Thanks to my employer for investing in the training. I am 100 percent new employee for them. And I am 100 percent new on Hive.

I am all in and learning how to crush it.

Check out John Hall's Top of Mind....One of the best books I've ever read about building a brand and business online.

Will do.
