It's the end of another splinterlands season and this season is the first season where we're having a different reward soulbound card. I tried shopping before the end of the season to see if I could get all of my summoners to level 8, but I couldn't, so I had to burn off some cards.
I did not and still have not read the most recent splinterlands posts about the changes, but I did see a few posts here and there about the changes and got the full story.
The new rebellion soulbound cards look good, and they come with some nice abilities, albeit new ones that I have not tested yet. I figured I did not have enough of these cards, and since I do not earn many Glints, I would learn how to use them as I went.
It is cool to have new abilities; it makes users more excited, and that is one of the benefits of this overhaul and new cards. Some of these abilities are extremely useful, and I believe they can even benefit players who do not have enough money to purchase expensive cards. So GLINT are becoming increasingly important because they serve as a gateway to receiving sets of free cards, which can even allow you to compete at the highest level.
Funny enough, the system now requires staked SPS to earn more Glints, so you can not exactly earn free glints if you do not have enough staked SPS. To compete, you simply need to have staked SPS, and that is the only way to get over 80% of these new cards, which areGLINT-spensive if there is a word for it.
So I bought the major draw to see if I would be lucky enough to get a legendary, but it was a huge gamble, and I did not even get an epic card. I actually had to purchase two epic draws. I also got some rare draws to see if I could get any good cards.
I am not familiar with this set of cards, so I will just be growing them. I also received some minor draws and some exciting new abilities.
Prediction For The New Set
My prediction is that everyone is still trying to get their heads around these new cards; unless you have a million Glint, you will not be able to fully utilize this set. It will take months for people to obtain these cards.
In most cases, players will continue to use the old set until they have accumulated a sufficient number of cards from the new set. I did not purchase any legendary because I did not have enough Glint.
I got some Gladius cases and there are no exciting rewards, no decent epic or even a legendary, just one gold common card (3).
SPS price
Overall, SPS rewards have been drastically reduced; I am not sure why this is the case, but it has happened gradually. Overall, the price remains very low and shows no signs of recovery, which is unfortunate. I was buying SPS two to three months ago, and the prices are worse off than it was three months ago.
Also, I do not have any updates regarding the DHF funding for SPL, but a lot of SPL influencers are still ranting about how Hive is toxic for Splinterlands on Twitter, so judging by this, I do not think the proposal has passed; maybe anyone can enlighten me.
Overall, I am excited to have new cards with new abilities, even if they are difficult to obtain due to their high price.
