Splinterlands' season finale is the most anticipated event of the year, and this time around I am pleased to finish in Gold One after months of finishing in third and second. It is also the first time I have had a strong finish to the season.
It wasn't as if the games were easy, but I managed to win max level cards and summoners and I managed to snap myself some wins and more SPS which was really good.
This season is likely to be one of the best in recent memory, both in terms of wins and SPS. I play in the Wild, so I need to be able to afford 2,000 DEC per season.
Although I am funding it elsewhere and staking every SPS I have, I need more staked SPS to earn more SPS by participating in ranked battles.
So I have been building my soulbound collection, and I would like to proudly share it.
Common
My common collection are the ones with the highest levels.
Although I still have a lot of them at level six, my collection has grown stronger. Common cards are not the most valuable, but having them at a higher level unlocks abilities that can make a difference in battle.
I earned about 92k glints (after doubling) and was able to obtain 105 common packs. Here is my common set.
The next is the rare.
I have some rare at level 5 and 6 already. These cards are unique, and because this collection does not include summoners, there is room to use Glint to purchase additional cards.
My second favorite is rare cards because they are less expensive and have more value than epics.
However, epic cards are a different breed and include some unique cards. I got about 52 glint packs this season, which is not as many as I would like, but I needed epics. I have some GF as well, but I usually burn them to upgrade the standard version.
Then comes my epic set.
This is my favourite.
Although all my epics are still in level two except shock trooper which is now in level three. Level three unlocks the swift ability, which increases the speed of all cards in play. It is a very useful ability, except in the reverse ruleset.
This is one of the most amazing features of EPICs. They always add more value as you upgrade them. I believe this is due to their maximum level of six, as opposed to common cards, which are not particularly exciting until they reach levels 8 or 10.
However, my Khazi conjurer is still at level one. I believe that is the only card in my epic set that is still at level one. I have two BCX of the card and need two more to bring it to level 2.
My most prized of them all is the *Olivia of the Brook, and this card is a game changer. When it survives a battle, it becomes unbeatable, and if you are up against it, the faster you kill it, the better.
Legendary
For the time being, I only have one legendary, and it is unlikely that I will have another. I bought this with my x2 glint earnings from two seasons ago. It turned out I was very unlucky to get this card.
Gladius cards
Throughout the season, I was able to collect approximately 8 Gladius cases. There were so many that I could not put them all together.
Despite opening eight Gladius cards, I only received one epic card. That is 40 cards without any Legendaries and just one epic card. It is probably the reason I only have four legendary cards and no GFL. There are other legendary cards in the game, but I only own four.
I only have five in the epic section, and that is about it. I must admit that I am lacking in this department, and it is because I did not join a guild sooner than I should have. Looking forward to the new season.
