As the title states, people can make outrageous money regardless of their background, health status, looks, connections, educational backgrounds, and many other credible odds
I was watching some adverts on 1000LB Sisters on TLC recently about these two oversize sisters who are taking people through their weight loss journey.
Then I checked TLC's official Facebook page to keep up with this reality TV show. This is not the type of show I would normally watch, but I found it extremely funny, and I became curious to see and learn more about the show.
These are two people who have used their personal issues to inspire and even make others laugh, and if they can make money doing it, why not? So far, the show has had two seasons, and if season one did not make enough money, I doubt season two would have been made.
These people have traveled to various countries, received first-class citizen treatment, received some of the best medical care, and can even pass as celebrities. People would stop by to take photos of them, get their autographs, and so on.
These are people who would not have been able to maintain a 9-to-5 job due to recurring health issues, nor would they have been able to earn enough money to live the life they are currently living.
They have, however, discovered ways to live that life in ways they would not have been able to do otherwise. I believe the person who came up with the idea must have been a genius, because who would have thought, "Oh, this could actually be a good idea for a show." Just your average weight loss story. Who would have thought?
No Matter What, Get Paid
I've seen criticism from the viewers of this reality TV show. They seem to pity them and even body shame them, while others would say nasty things about them, which irritates you.
You have people who are aggressively telling them that they are not doing enough to lose weight, and so on. However, as crude as this may appear, these types of people are responsible for the traction and popularity that keeps reality shows like this in business.
Show business comes with a lot of stuffs like this and when people aren't having divided opinions about something then it means that stuff isn't drawing a lot of attention.
There are people who do shows about their health issues, conditions, and challenges, and most of the time these people are just perpetual failures in other fields, but they manage to hit it otherwise and take advantage of their inabilities to make a decent living. This demonstrates how vast the opportunities created by the Internet can be.
Somehow, people on Reality shows can be intentionally stupid just for the camera, and inasmuch as I believe that they're mostly not lying about their lives. Reality-based content can still be scripted for viewers or audiences, but it tells true stories without being overly realistic.
Have Fun, Be Inspired, Get Views For Your Story
However, the stories of these sisters are only for educational and inspirational purposes. Personally, I think it is a funny show; some of the scenes I saw were amusing, and it is extremely unfortunate that some people would rather say negative things about the characters.
However, as previously stated, the more criticism they receive, the more viewers they can attract, as well as exposure and money. It just goes to show that you can be useless in conventional things and still find ways to make money.
