Last weekend, the square dance festival has finally begun, lots of dancing, joy, revelry, fun and forró, a show of colors that lights up the environment and moves people's hearts. This year's event features stylized presentations, the competition went beyond the dance steps, the costumes and the attractions made all the difference, this party of colors was reminiscent of carnival.

The competition took place in the municipal gymnasium in the city of Montanhas/RN, the place was packed, it was an uproar, everyone wanted to watch the presentations. The team coming from different cities in Rio Grande do Norte and Paraíba, is an annual event awaited by everyone.

The whole city got into the party mood, all went beyond the square dance festival, the event moves local businesses, popcorn machines, cotton candy sales, June food and inflatable toys were part of the event, entertainment everywhere.

I don't like dancing square dance, the first and only time I danced was when I was 7 years old, I didn't have the right to choose. On the other hand, I love watching and following the show, it's a dance that hypnotizes its spectators.

The place was so lively that between a performance and other people went out to buy corn food, take the children to the available toys, in the meantime, there was a musical performance so the party didn't stop for a minute. Emotion and joy were present everywhere.

In the second performance, a dancer fell, wow, everyone stopped, tears were visible in the participants' eyes, they lost the opportunity to win with that mistake, in short, they were professionals, they danced until the end, even with their expressions of sadness. Over time, we regain the joy brought by dancing. "It was an overcoming show"

The event left me enchanted, but all good things don't last long, I couldn't stay until the end, I returned home at 3 am and there were still 2 performances to go, the party was going strong and animate, long live São João!
