The Battle Is Not Yours But Of The Lord

Good evening lovely family.Happy New Month to every one of you. I'm glad we've all seen this day, and by the special grace of God, we will all see the end of this month.

It's a new month, and new things are about to take place in your life. I want to share my view tonight, on what I title the battle is not yours but of the Lord.

I chose to write about this because of the experiences I had in November. It wasn't that easy with me; at some point, I was confused, and I didn't know what to do.

But there's one thing about me, each time I'm facing difficulties in life, I do go to my pastor and inform him. And he in return, would guide me on what to do. And each time I try doing what he asked me to do, there's always a testimony.

I believe in other people's calling, and that has helped me all these years.

What are battles?

In my understanding, battles are those fight that occurs between two individuals. It is something that could cause havoc in the society.

But the battle I'm talking about is both a physical battle and a spiritual battle. The concept of battle had already been in existence even before I was born.

I've met people who don't believe that spiritual and physical battles exist. But I don't know if you're among those groups of people. Permit me to tell you that they exist.

Take for instance, a full grown-up man, and a believer at that, who is seen going to the hospital every month to conduct a test, just to find out what might have been the cause of his problem, but it's always a pity that sometimes the doctors and nurses seem not to know exactly what is wrong with him.

It doesn't mean they're not professionals at their work, but there's a battle going on somewhere, and it takes a man who is filled with the holy spirit to detect what is wrong with such a person.

I will also talk about myself. When I was in primary school, I had a bad experience when I wrote my first school leaving certificate examination. I wrote the exams very well, and when the results were released, mine was missing.

I wept bitterly because as at then, I didn't know how powerful prayer could be. After some years, I had to go back and sit for that same exams.

After my primary school, I entered secondary school happily. I passed through so many trials and temptations.

I could remember when I wrote my junior secondary school examination, and that has always been a remarkable day in my life. I left my parents' house that very morning; I wasn't sick at all.

So when the examiner, handed over the question paper to me, I collected it from him, and I started writing. But while I was still writing the exams, it was as if my air passage was blocked, and I began to cough.

As I was coughing blood was also coming out from my mouth. I vomited a whole lot of blood, and that affected my performance.

When the results were released, mine had an issue which led me to re-write some subjects. After that, I had the same encounter in my final year in secondary school. It was a tough one at that.

God showed up for me. He told me that the battle was not mine but his, and I saw how he made me graduate with the best result.

What I'm trying to say is that all these are spiritual battles, and it is through prayer that you would overcome them.

Concerning physical battle, the children of Israel passed through tribulations at the hands of their enemies, especially the Egyptians. It got to a point where they had to approach Moses. They told him it would have been better to remain in slavery than to come and die in a strange land because of hunger.

They murmured against God because they didn't know who they were serving. As they were complaining, Moses talked to the Lord on their behalf. God was waiting for his appointed time. He wanted to show them that the battle was not theirs but his.

When it was time for him to show forth his power to the Egyptians and Pharaoh as well, he led them into the Red Sea, and he made the river to cover all of them.

The bible recorded that, none of them escaped.

In conclusion, this is a new month. And I don't want you to begin this month with the mindset that what you went through in the month of November is the same thing you would encounter.

The battle is not yours but of the Lord. Do not be afraid of anything, stand firm and see the salvation of the lord.

The same God who fought for me would surely fight for you this month. Declare a word concerning this month, and wait for the result.
