[ENG-SPN] The Bear of Madrid: a myth against the light / La Osa de Madrid: un mito a contraluz

It is genuinely curious, the definition that Bierce makes of Mythology, as that set of beliefs of a primitive people about their origins, which differs from the true stories that the same people invented later. In the case of Madrid, there have been many years of darkness and disagreements, in relation to the sex of the totemic animal that since the 12th century - more spring, less spring - dignifies the city's coat of arms.

As if agreeing with the prosaic Bierce, historicism finally recognizes what had always been the law and reference, in addition, to a constellation in the sky, followed by all the ancient navigators: the Bear and the Strawberry Tree.

We also have some statues like this in our town

And a statue was built in 1495, that's so great!!!
I mean 1495 man! 😵

Not quite. This statue is modern, built about 50 or 60 years ago. But its design already appears, for example, in the mural painting of a 12th century monastery and that is years.
