Summertime activities
Hello Hiveans!
It is now the second quarter of 2022. Summertime here in the Philippines. It is also graduation time to many students and a day of reckoning for those who did not do so well. I loved summer breaks when I was still a kid at school, and I still do. It gave me time to be with my friends, play all day, go to the riverside resorts, or climb the mountains surrounding our place with them. Things that most kids would want to do.
Aside from fun and games, summer breaks gave me time to watch movies and television. These are the things I am also passionate about and enjoyed with another set of friends.
Crazy About Movies and TV
There was only one small movie theater in our town. My classmate's family owned it, they were super-rich so we always had a trump card hidden up our sleeves in case there was a long queue for a most awaited movie premiere. Luckily for us, we did not have use this special privilege often. The sleepy town did not have many film buffs and dedicated cinephiles in town. And if you are not familiar with that word, it is just a fancy term for someone who is crazy about movies.
And if you were wondering what kind of movies I watch, its mostly Netflix movies these days: Army of the Dead, Red Notice, Enola Holmes, Love and Monsters, Army of Thieves, Don't Look Up, etc. I've also developed a liking to Korean TV dramas and comedies, which technically aren't movies, but I still love watching them: Strong Girl Bong-soon, Revolutionary Love, Good Manager, and the classic Coffee Prince. Then there is Business Proposal, Home Town Cha-Cha-Cha, and What's Wrong with Secretary Kim. Honestly, they are too many to mention here.
I heard that Brigerton is quite the show so I'm putting that on my to watch list and hope that I don't binge-watch the first season all at once. Castlevania was also recently recommended to me, so add that one to the My List.

Ramblings About Hive and More
Hive had given me an opportunity to do the things that I really wanted to do
Blogging and blockchain stuff had given me an opportunity to really affect the world in my own little way but I did not expect it to also affect me in a way that I expected it to be. I have gone back to explore the things I really enjoyed doing since I was a small kid, but at the same time, I know that it is with different eyes that I look at it. The perspective of an adult who have had many experiences in life, both good and bad, sad and happy, and all that jazz.
Anyways, I never really thought that I would "settle down" in any platform and become so concentrated in. My mind would always wander around so my attention followed where my imagination brought me. Hive was really different, I can write whenever I want, I can play games, read other peoples' stuff, look at markets and trade, and engage with a community.
For someone who gets into all sorts of activities and interests, then move on the next day, this is great for me. It still blows my mind that this happens all on Hive. I do have many offline activities that I love to do. But then again some of it ultimately finds its way to my blog; a cake at the cafe, a new #plant-based product, discovering gardening.
I had parents who really supported me in whatever I did and however silly it may seem at that time. They gave me their advice and voice their concern so I listen to them with thoughtful attention and love. I may not agree with what they are saying but I know that they have my best interest at heart.
Lowbie, Newbie on RSG
Finally, I am now playing Rising Star Game and have reached level 9 in two days using just 3 cards; the last one, a pizza, I just bought this afternoon. I'm really hooked on playing it right now. Not a big gamer, I just do it if I have time or when I feel writer's block or when I just want to chill and relax. And that's one of the things that had endeared me to this blockchain, I can easily shift whenever I feel uninspired to write and the creative juices in my brain seemed to have dried up.
Hive has a certain vibe and tension that caters to a certain group of people, yet it also cuts across demographics: young and old, male and female, left to right, everyone is here.
To end. There is that element of "create your own luck" here on the Hive platform. In a way you have the power to do whatever you want and affect your life positively with it. It is similar to mapping out your own destiny, you can plan thoroughly but it always turns out the way that it is supposed to. Thinking about it, there are people whose lives have changed because of being here. And, not only financially, but also finding people of similar backgrounds and just chilling out on Discord, learning something new, or just having an outlet to vent out your frustrations and complaints in life.
As for me, I will just keep doing what I do, whenever I feel like doing it. And that is a fact. Thanks for dropping by and reading about my ramblings here on HIVE.
Love and peace.
I meditate not to find myself but to loose myself in the moment. I reflect not to see myself in a mirror, but to see myself from the outside looking in.
