ever find an item in a thrift shop and wonder "What does this thing do?" asking the staff aint a help either as they also don't know about it, welp i even thought this was a photo album, like putting pictures on both sides, but then i saw these kind of things in movies but were more on the bigger ones, like in Mulan movie where they use it as a cover where woman change their clothes, but guessing ain't convincing me of it's usage some, as being the most curious of it, I used google image and then found out its called byobu a Japanese folding screen used as "barrier of the wind"
small byobu are used for hina dolls background, but usually these things have paintings on it, so I searched on youtube about it and I see that some artists paint on it, so it can be used as a canvas!
I think it's a good item for artists who love to explore different types of medium, I do have some ideas myself of what to paint on it, but I ain't buying it though, why? cause when I asked about how much this was, the staff priced it at 100 pesos (1.79USD), told her that there was damage and would still price it at 100 (1.79USD)? she said yes, well I won't spend 100 pesos on a damaged item, I'm already guessing they'll throw this one away once their new container arrives
I see them dispose of bigger ones like this that have been damage a lot, I feel like some staff mismanage it when they arrange it on shelves, kind of a waste ..
This kind of item has my interest, I'd like to paint on this folding screen, but I prefer a bigger one though, like a life-size one, but still hoping to buy it for below 1.79 USD 🤣 I was serious when I said I'm stingy HAHAHA
but being in this thrift shop a lot, made me know how to bargain, and when best to buy with a lower price, so I'm hoping to hunt that life-size you soon if there's any coming
Anyway, if you have other ideas what byobu can be used for please do share about it
