Blogging for Birdseed: The Weekday Mom's Club Part 5 - The Invisible Wife

So, one of my other favourite social media options out there is Twitter: I love this micro blogging spot, it allows me a snapshot into others’ lives, thoughts and news.

(If you are on Twitter this is me: Julia A Baker (@MissJuliaBaker): ttps://twitter.com/MissJuliaBaker?t=Gv03E_gKz4j77NthFtdetw&s=08)

This week, on Twitter, I stumbled on a thread about the Invisible wife. She’s the figure in the background, the one who allows her partner to shine. Her partner is able to excel in their career, their hobbies, their studies, and their other relationships.

Meanwhile, she’s holding the fort, raising the children, carrying the weight of the emotional load and creating the space for her partner to shine.

But why is this Superhero Invisible? She’s invisible because what she does is so ordinary, so mundane, and so boring its hardly worth taking about… until her partner does it, only then is it newsworthy.

I found the thread very interesting because there have been times in my first year of motherhood that I have felt invisible, and I’ve felt the weight of the emotional load bringing me down and I’ve felt as if my life was uninteresting and boring.

Thankfully. feelings are fleeting, and they don’t hang around whispering untruths. So, for anyone who relates to this and finds themselves feeling like the invisible wife, please know that you are important, and that what you do is so extremely important… and there is space for you to shine in your life and your relationships!

"The Invisible Wife"

They say, "not all superheroes wear capes," in the same way, not all superheroes make themselves or their actions visible. Yet, the work they do at the background is tremendous!

This is one of the many reasons why we need to appreciate mothers for the great sacrifices they make, responsibilities they carry on their shoulders and work of love they do at all times. Thank you 🥰

Speaking about Twitter, there's a Microblogging platform on Hive developed by the Leofinance team. It is like Twitter and is equipped with something more than Elon Musk’s proposed Everything App 😁 I believe it'll be lot of fun having you around to share images or threads about your #motherhood experiences, #food and other great interests you have. You can simply access Threads from your Hive Keychain browser via alpha.leofinance.io, and I'm sure the Motherhood Leo Curators would love to see you on Threads also.
