Part of our stay at JPark Island Resort and Waterpark is a buffet breakfast at their Abalone Restaurant. Of course, we have to take advantage of this.
The night before, we only ate in the room so it felt like we missed something in the resort but we also woke up pretty early because we want to enjoy the beach and the pools with fewer people, yes we are introverts!
As soon as we got out of the pool, technically, it was just my husband and baby who went swimming, I was just happy watching them, we headed to our room, got changed, and went right away to Abalone
Due to the pandemic, they have set only one entrance and exit, they also need to scan our breakfast voucher, there were so many people inside, mostly Filipinos but I also spotted Koreans and some other foreigners. We looked for a table. There was a staff assisting us too, offering if this table is okay for us and left as soon as we sat down.
The restaurant was well lit, although its lighting was more of a warm one, the natural light coming from the outside helped too but since we were seated near the food display, it was warmer here in our side but the room temperature was just enough, it was not too hot nor too cold.
I went checking on the food available and here's my breakfast plates:
I got some carbs right away, pancake with blueberry sauce, eggs, fish fillet, red sauce penne and I forgot what were the others. I went for the second plate and got some Japanese food. I put many makis to share with my husband.
At first, I really wanted to take photos using my Sony camera but I got a shy because no one was doing it so I ended up just roaming around with my phone.
This is Chole Masala, it reminded me of Dubai. I worked in Dubai for two years and most of the food there are like this.
Check out the other available food:
Cereals were placed in this kind of dispenser. This was also the spot where coffee and other juices were located. They got this setup at the center of the room. I am not fond of cereals but I got some chocolate ones for the baby.
Different kinds of carbohydrates were also on display. Pancakes, croissant, potatoes, sweet potatoes, muffins, donuts, bagels, brown bread, banana bread, etc. This was also located at the same center table where the coffee was.
And of course sushi station. This was in a separate spot that only a few goes to get sushi and maki here. Note as well that it was necessary for them to demand that all who are getting food must wear plastic gloves, this was for safety purposes. It was a hassle, I must say because there were several times during our meal time that I have to stand, get a juice or coffee or add more viands and I have to wear the plastic gloves again.
And you know how wearing a plastic gloves felt. I get sweaty hands and it felt really uncomfortable but I have to follow because it was their rule. Anyone who is found without gloves will be approached by the staffs and given a glove to continue. I guess everyone followed although there were some who were not informed and would immediately take food without them so they have to give these guests the gloves.
Of course, a family selfie has to be taken. Our plates were almost empty. As you can see, the back has no more guests, we were really taking time to eat. I guess we spent more than an hour at Abalone. So some guests went out and we just chilled inside. Breakfast was available until ten in the morning though.
But if I would compare JPark's Abalone Buffet breakfast to Shangrilla Mactan, I'd still prefer the latter. But this was truly satisfying and our stomachs were full! My baby got really tired from his morning activities that after having breakfast, he slept so our plan of going to the Pororo Park was canceled!
