Each week, the LMAC Community run by @shaka holds a collage contest round for its members to participate. In the Community, you'll discover a variety of themed contest entries submitted for consideration in the contest. Hopefuls anxiously await result indicating where their creative collage scenes will be chosen for the final round of competition. The LMAC Community also offers an opportunity for members to create "freestyle" collage themes and post to the Community. In the freestyle option, you have more freedom to design your creations without having to incorporate the weekly contest photo. You still, however, have rules in which you must abide by when posting to the Community.
For my Freestyle Collage No. 85, my theme is a goddess who protects the glades.
As a protector of the castle and surrounding kingdom, Gladys oversees the shoreline. She waits, then watches as ships close in ready to unleash the pirates aboard. Years ago, they pillaged the castle and surrounding village taking as hostages men, women, and children.
The open market across the sea was their destination. Far away from home, the occupants of the castle and village forgot their heritage. They never returned.
But Gladys heard of the kingdom's plight. Too near the water, they were at the mercy of marauding ships.
She set up a perimeter. Calling the aquatic life from the deep, they responded. Whales marooned the ships. Sharks took out their revenge on the pirates.
The ships' treasures were captured and distributed to the kingdom.
In preparing my theme, again I have a sea heroine coming to the rescue of the land dwellers from the pirates and their menacing ships. prey on the the innocent people who live near the sea and make their living from it. I included the LMAC Contest image of a ship with jaws engraves on the front. What a perfect symbol for an evil pirate ship. It's nemesis is the beautiful sea nymph.

When compiling my collage design, I upload images to Canva. As my design program, I use the various tools and features to blend my images. Below are the procedures I use that incorporate the tools at my disposal in my Annual Pro Membership Subscription.
To a blank, white canvas, I added the female image.
Switched canvas background to azure. Duplicated the image to fill the screen as the background for my scene.
Added the bulb to represent a cleansing of the glade from enemies.
Removed the bulb's background; duplicated and positioned them.
Added the pirate enemy ship.
Removed ship's background. Set in water.
Added the LMAC castle image.
Colorized the castle; duplicated to fill bottom.
Added the skeleton fish.
Colorized the skeleton fish; duplicated, then positioned them in the landscape.
Added the dolphin image. Haven't decided where to position it.
Colorized the dolphin, then duplicated it and placed each on top of the LMAC skeleton fish statue.
Added the gold and black decorative and glitter edge free borders. Completed project.
