Hello everyone in the wonderful hive blockchain. I hope you’re all doing well and enjoying the weather wherever you are. Once again, I’m grateful to the hive learners’ community for their amazing initiatives.
The hive learner’s community has again presented us with another amazing topic and I’m glad to be participating in it.
Growing up, I wasn’t the type of kid that liked fashion. I didn’t see wearing fancy clothes, putting on this and that as a thing people should do. In fact, there was a time I told people who asked me that I hated fashion because it was a waste of time.
Now that I remember this, I was just being unreasonable that time. I was the type of kid that didn’t like wearing watches, caps, sunglasses, and other fancy things. I always like to keep things simple (too simple, maybe?) I didn’t care about wearing odd colors together. I didn’t care about matching colors.
I was totally different from my siblings. My siblings were (and are still) fashion kings and queens. They so much loved dressing up well and looking good. My brother was the best in that aspect. He’d save up his money (money he gets from family members and his money) and spend them on clothes and shoes.
I didn’t care about all that. I just shook my head and laughed at him for wasting his money on “unnecessary things”.
Well, things changed when I grew older. When I got to a higher level in high school (Senior class). My mentality about fashion changed totally. It was as if a fashion fairy erased my brain and added new stuff there. I discovered the importance of dressing well. Plus I discovered I needed to dress well to chike (gain a girl's attention/ ask a girl out) girls😂😂😂. The boy who hated wristwatches suddenly fell in love with them. I fell so hard that I bought different colors.
I also fell in love with Nigerian clothes (especially Ankara's and materials). But after I graduated from high school, my fashion sense changed totally.
My love for Ankara's and materials decreased drastically. I actually don't know why it happened, but I fell in love with other things.
I really love looking good. Asides from the fact that I use it to gain girls’/people's attention, it also boosts my confidence. You know that feeling when you wear a good dress and you feel confident to walk anywhere. Yeah, I really love that feeling.
I believe in that popular fashion saying “dress to impress. I also strongly believe in dressing responsibly. The way you dress is how you’ll be addressed. My mom and school principal raised me with this saying and today, it has stuck with me to always dress responsibly.
My fashion sense is quite nice, simple, affordable and definitely, the type they’ll make people turn back.
I love white and black. I love black more. I also love snickers (especially white and black snickers). I love wearing round necks and face caps. Wristwatches are not my thing, but u wear them on special occasions.
Recently, I got used to wearing perfume. It started when I used to steal my brother’s perfume, but now I just can’t do without them.
Round Necks
Yes! This is the first on the list of clothes I’m comfortable wearing. I love big round necks. I love white and black round necks more. I’m comfortable with other colors too, but I feel these two suits me most.
Jean trousers
I also love wearing Jean trousers. I prefer black and grey colors to any other colors. There was a time I loved ripped Jeans, but now I prefer normal jean trousers.
Jean jackets
My brother made me fall in love with jean jackets. I love rocking my jean jackets with white round necks and black/white jean trousers and a white or black snicker.
Joggers
If I’m not going out (for events), I prefer wearing joggers. For example, if I want to visit a friend or stroll, I prefer wearing joggers to jeans and trousers.
Agbada
Agbada is a well-known Nigerian attire that is worn by both males and females. I also love this Nigerian attire, especially when I see it with Guinea, and garnish it all down with shiny, nice, and well-polished shoes.
Okay, so I know people have different fashion senses. One man’s food is another man's poison. Some people love wearing over-ripped jean trousers and all. Fine by them, but that cloth is the type I’ll never wear.
over-ripped Jean trousers
I love jean trousers a lot; baggy ones, tight ones, and even ripped ones. But the over-ripped I’ll never wear are the over-ripped jean trousers.
Lace
The last time I wore lace was probably when I was in elementary school. I have nothing against people that wear lace, but for me, it is NO, NO! It looks good on my mom. But it doesn’t suit me at all.
Suit
Oh boy! I love suits a lot! Cristiano Ronaldo; my role model made me fall in love with suits. He looks dashing when he wears suits. Sadly, I’ve never worn a suit in my life. Okay okay. I’ll be sincere. I wore one when I was in elementary school (lol, very baggy) and when I graduated from high school and worked as a teacher. But the type I’d love to wear is those expensive and nice suits (like the type Cristiano Ronaldo wears). But now, I don’t have the money to buy such things. I’ll definitely buy and wear one in the future.
Thanks for reading.
