The Christmas holiday is right around the corner, and honestly, I couldn’t be more excited. Since October i have been in school for my first semester of my fourth year at the university and to be honest these past two months have been nothing short of stressful as i have being attending classes , doing projects, reading and even participating in presentations. It literally just feels like I’ve barely had a moment to myself, let alone relax. So, i would say this holiday means a lot to me—it is just a chance for me to unwind, eat some good food, enjoy myself and just have a nice time.
My school is officially going on vacation on the 20th of this month which is when i would leaving for my house. But then I won’t lie; I feel it’s coming later than it should. Alot of other universities I know will be going on vacation before that time, but hey, I’ll take what I can get. The bright side about the holiday is that I don’t have to deal with exams until March which is a huge relief for me because I know how stressful exam preparations can be during this period. It would have been a major obstacle for me to truly enjoy this break.
As they say, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” I think i really need this take this holiday as an opportunity to relax, recharge and just have fun. My plan is simple: I want to use this time to rest properly, visit some places, and just explore. First and foremost, i am looking forward to spending quality time with my family. Christmas is all about togetherness, and I want to fully enjoy the season with them. Spending time with them means alot to me and also, I believe there is something really special about sharing good food, laughter, and memories with the people closest to you during this period.
Beyond family time, I have also made plans to hang out with friends from school who live here in Ibadan, where I currently stay. We have been talking about exploring the city and making the most of this holiday, and I can’t wait to catch up with them. But that is not all—I also plan to visit my hometown for a few days. It’s been a while since I’ve been there, so I think it’ll be nice to reconnect with my roots, even if it’s just for a short period of time.
The holiday will be lasting for about two weeks but then the major thing about it for me is that ,it is my biggest chance to spend time with family. I am currently in my practical year and we would have to be in school involving in alot of practicals. Due to this, there won't be any holidays for everyone in my class until May, so I just know I need to make the most of this one.
In the end, my goal for this holiday is simple: rest, reconnect, have fun and just get prepared for the next year.
