Hey everyone!
I’m super excited to be back in this community to share my current music obsessions. I love bringing in a mix of sounds that have been on repeat for me, and this time, I have three tracks I’ve been vibing to lately. Most of them lean towards Afrobeat, but there’s also something unexpected in there. Let’s dive in!
The first song i have here is “Apres Minuit” by Wizkid ft. Tiakola.
So, this one has been a game-changer for me. This is one of the songs in new Wizkid’s album (Morayo). To be honest, I hadn’t properly listened to Wizkid’s album until one of my roommates started playing some of the songs through the speaker in our room. One day, I stumbled upon “Apres Minuit” through a random TikTok video, and wow—it had me hooked. Tiakola’s verse? Pure fire. I don’t even speak French, but the emotion in his voice carried me away. There’s just something about his delivery that makes you want to keep putting it on replay. It’s rare to feel so connected to lyrics you don’t understand, but Tiakola made that happen. Wizkid also brought his excellent Afrobeat vibe, blending it perfectly with Tiakola’s unique singing style. Together, they created a masterpiece that I can’t get enough of. It’s smooth, catchy, and just the kind of song you need to calm down and relax after getting stressed out during the day.
2.“Wildflower” by Billie Eilish
Now, here’s the thing. I’ve always been more into Afrobeat and Nigerian music, but Billie Eilish’s “Wildflower” completely pulled me in. I’ll be honest—I don’t usually vibe with sad songs because they can leave me in my feelings a bit too much, but this one? It’s different. The line “Good things don’t last” on the song hit me hard. It’s such a simple phrase, but it carries so much weight, especially if you’ve been through heartbreak or tough times. Billie’s voice is hauntingly beautiful—soft, soothing, and full of emotion. The melody complements her voice perfectly, creating a song that feels both comforting and heart wrenching. Even though it’s a sad song, I find myself going back to it again and again. Sometimes, music like this just reminds you to sit with your emotions and process them.
3.“Trending” by Muyeez & TML Vibez
Finally, let’s talk about “Trending”. I’ve been following TML Vibez for a while now, and he never disappoints. This song is all about celebrating growth and success. The beat is so infectious—you can’t help but move to the rythm when it comes on. What makes it even better is the message. It’s about reflecting on where they started and celebrating the fact that they’re now in the spotlight and are now becoming known in different places. The lyrics are simple, but the energy and excitement they bring make the song stand out. This track just lifts my spirits every time I hear it. It’s one of those songs that makes you feel unstoppable, like you can achieve anything.
In conclusion, music has a way of capturing so many emotions, and these three tracks each bring something unique to the table. From Tiakola’s soulful French verse in “Apres Minuit”, to Billie’s heartfelt and emotional “Wildflower”, and the high energy celebration and vibe of “Trending”, these songs have been my soundtrack lately. If you’re looking for something to add to your playlist, I’d definitely recommend giving these a try. Trust me, they’re worth it!
