The beauty of being indoors.

For me, I’d say I’m an ambivert. That means I’m somewhere in between being an introvert and an extrovert. I can enjoy being around people and participating in social events, but I also deeply value my alone time. If I had to choose, though, I would say i lean more towards being an introvert. Most times, you’ll find me at home with my family, in my own space, doing the things I love.

The thing I cherish most about being indoors is the peace. I just love the calmness that comes from just being in your own environment, away from the noise, chaos, and demands of the outside world. When I stay indoors, I feel a sense of calm that’s hard to replicate elsewhere. No loud distractions, no rushing around—just me, in my room, scrolling through social media or doing something that makes me happy.

Being indoors also gives me time to think, reflect, and recharge. It’s in those quiet moments that I can really focus on myself. Sometimes, I use that time to plan, set goals, or just rest properly without interruptions. And if I feel tired, I can simply take a nap—no need to worry about being in the “right” place or situation. If I get hungry, I have the freedom to grab something from the kitchen and eat in peace.

Beyond the peace, I’d say being indoors also gives me privacy. I love to be in my own own space where you I can just be yourself without judgment or external pressures. It believe being alone allows you to spend time with your thoughts, process things, and even discover areas in your life that you may want to improve. For me, this is one of the most valuable aspects of staying indoors.

When it comes to indoor activities, my favorites would definitely be watching movies , scrolling through my phone and listening to music. These are the main ways I pass the time when I’m indoors, especially when boredom starts to creep in. Staying indoors can sometimes be quite exhausting, so it’s important to just find those little things that can keep you entertained and lift your mood.

During the holidays, before I resumed school, i noticed staying indoors actually helped me discover a lot about myself. It was during those long, quiet days at home that I realized I could do more than I ever thought possible. I ended up exploring new hobbies and creating DIY projects that I shared with others on the #diyhub community. That period of staying in and having nothing else to do pushed me to tap into my creative side, which for me was a rewarding experience.

At the end of the day, I would say being indoors comes with relaxation, self-discovery, and creativity. Even though I do enjoy going out occasionally to experience new things and connect with others, i don't think there is anything quite like the comfort and peace of being in your own space. It’s where I feel most like myself, and it’s a place where I can literally rest, think, and even grow.
