Dragon Age: the Veilguard — Screenshot Showcase

in #hive-1402172 days ago

All of my waking hours have been spent in the new Dragon Age game, ever since it launched a few days ago.

I haven't finished it yet and when I do I'll post a proper review of the game. At the moment I'm still so incredibly pleased with it! But in saying that, I'm not completely blind. 😝 I've finally met the qunari chick and while I like her attitude, she does have a lot of cringe dialogue.

Still haven't been forced to do push-ups because I called it a her or a him or a whatever. But, anyway!

I'm also a bit annoyed at Scout Harding's personality changes. She was a cool, confident scout in Inquisition... now she's non-confident and awkward.

I don't like that warrior companions are pretty much the last ones you get. I also don't like that when I make my warrior friend taunt, sometimes enemies still fling themselves at me in an angered rage.

It's also taken me a long time to work out which character my first character will romance... as none really appeal to me. I've always been drawn to the Alistair/Anders/Cullen type of character. I loved Gale in BG3 because he instantly reminded me of Alistair. None of the male characters in this have really drawn my attention yet. Since my lady's a Grey Warden, I've decided to just pair her with the other Grey Warden, Davrin. I like Emmerich the old man, but... he's old and his appearance reminds me of Captain Hook from Peter Pan.

So. Loving the game, but I still need to get attached to new companions.

Without further ado — or babbling — allow me to thrust some pretty screenshots in your face. I am looooving the graphics of this game, and the photo mode. Though I do wish the photo mode had some different colour filter options. As such, all these images are the colour the game intended with no fancy filters.

Game is freakin' gorgeous.
Combat is freakin' fun.
Discovering more Dragon Age lore is freakin' fantastic.

Proper review incoming when I eventually finish the game. xD

Until next time!! ⚔️🔥🐲

Just a handful of filters would be nice! The game has none. xD

But yeah, it's a beautiful game!! I don't need no stinkin' filters. 😁 Just wanted a few artsy shots. I'm partial to filters that add more contrast and a vintage blue-green hue to things. Also orangey-reddy ones! Ah well!

I just bought it and have been playing it as well. Dragon Age is one of my favorite all-time series of games. I am just not particularly fond of the cartoony style haha. I replayed Inquisition a month ago to get prepped for this, I prefer the older style they had. The dialogue and acting seem cringey at times. But I still have lots of game left.

I didn't like the style when I first saw it, especially in one of their first trailers introducing the new companions. It looked awful. But now that I've seen it in-game, I really love it! I prefer this art-style over Origins and Inquisition. It feels a lot like Dragon Age 2.

The dialogue and voice acting definitely isn't the best, but it's not the worst either. I'm 45 hours in at the moment and the dialogue doesn't get better. xD

It is interesting that you prefer this art style. I hope they don't make the next Mass Effect like this haha. But glad you really like it. :) I am only about 15 hours into the game.

Another thing I dislike (I have not played the game only heard about it on youtube) is that apparently I can't play a truly evil character in this game.

Yeah... it is disappointing. But you couldn't really make an evil character in Dragon Age 2 or Inquisition either. I miss my evil city elf from Origins, murdering everyone and horrifying Alistair at every moment. xD
