Yes, yes, I know. It was only a week or so ago when I met a fiery fate within the depths of the Nether, all thanks to the rampaging tusks of an unexpected hell piggy. Seriously. Imagine. Sneaking up behind someone, chuckling (snorting) evilly, then pushing them off a cliff into a pool of lava. Despicable!
But. See. I'm not ready to give up. Not yet. I'm still in a Minecraft mood despite everything and this time I have a NEW PLAN. I'm... not going to go to the Nether. Not until I'm completely geared up in enchanted diamond armour with a pile of golden apples at the ready.
I mean. That only makes sense, right? I always jump ahead of myself and want to build things exactly how I want, right from the start. Let's not do that this time? XD SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN.
So once again, welcome to an all new Hardcore Minecraft adventure, that I'll try to dive into differently from my last very recent adventure. Variety? I do not know her.
This time I spawned in a snowy biome. Petrified of being frozen solid, cold and shivery without the benefit of leather armour to keep me warm, I high-tailed it out of there ASAP.
Also, while high-tailing it out of there, I kept my eyes pealed for blue ice.
I came across a village pretty quickly, thankfully, so I could steal a bed. Just in time too, as night fell. xD So I was able to quickly sleep and remove the evils of the night and get back to work.
There was a small amount of blue ice in this village, but nowhere near the amount I would like for paths and things. So I'm keeping my eyes pealed for those snowy ocean areas where the blue ice grows out of the water in giant spires.
As usual, my first order of business is finding a picturesque, usable location to call my own.
The area in the screenshot behind me is quite nice! But it's not exactly what I'm after. I mean, is anything ever exactly what I want? But, this is the start of a brand new game so therefore I need to go on a lengthier adventure to find someplace super nice.
On my travels I found a small amount of iron! And made a couple of basic tools out of it. 😊
And another nice-looking place, which is close to a village too, albeit not a very good village.
So far on these travels I have come across four villages! All of them awful. I did liberate a couple of emeralds and a leather hat out of one village chest though.
I chopped down a couple of cherry blossoms so I could have some saplings to grow elsewhere, and continued on my journey.
Jumping into a small boat of the finest quality, I paddled across the vast ocean in hopes of stumbling across a place worthy of my presence.
With a heap of bread pilfered from villages and a hefty supply of cooked pork chops, I visited countless regions. There were a few lovely spots — huge mountains in the background, strange looking caves, a beachy paradise. At one point I had to stop myself from racing inside a dungeon that had spawned on land... I had no torches to light the area up and prevent respawns and no armour for protection. Welp.
Finally, at around 4000x/5000z of my original spawn location (yep, a hell of a journey) I found somewhere I may possibly be comfortable sorting out my new home.
In a dark oak forest, my favourite biome! 🍄🌳
There's a small mountain back there that could be the start of my mine. I just need to thoroughly investigate the area so I don't fall down any unexpected ravines or some-such. 😝 It's not as picturesque as could be, but I can't ignore this area. This is my new home!
So I dug a mine into that aforementioned mountain and got to work mining.
Unfortunately I haven't come across any more iron since my journey, so it's been fairly slow going digging with stone tools. With any luck I'll dig my way into a grand cavern and find enough iron to get to work on the outside of my mine.
I'd just like to reiterate that I will be avoiding the Nether this time! Until I am absolutely prepared. But that doesn't mean exciting things won't happen! 😁 This adventure will be longer than my last foray, and I hope you'll join me for my next post in a few days.
Until next time!! 😊
