Hacía mucho tiempo que no tejía para mi barbie, pero el hecho de estar rodeada de mis sobrinas y verlas jugar con sus muñecas ha hecho que vuelva a sentir esa pasión por diseñar y tejer para mi linda Kalanny.
Blessed day my dearest and dear needleworkers, I hope you are having an amazing week. Today I am so excited to share with you my darling Kalanny's new dress.
It has been a long time since I knitted for my barbie, but being surrounded by my nieces and watching them play with their dolls has brought back that passion for designing and knitting for my cute Kalanny.
This is the first dress I knit for her here in Venezuela, our history together began when I bought her in a second hand market in Peru, so having her with me here in my country is very meaningful for me.
This time I wanted to knit her a spring dress that goes very well with the tropical climate of our country. It is a dress with a short wide skirt, with a strapless bodice at the shoulders and a nice neckline.
I went for a very striking bubblegum pink tone combined with a white skirt.
The first thing I did was to knit the cups of the bodice, for this I knitted 2 granny triangles, then I knitted the straps and the base of the top. As I wanted a wide skirt I chose a V-stitch, which I knitted in white with a thinner yarn than the pink one so that the skirt would not be so heavy and would have a little bit of flounce.
I also made a small cord to use as a belt to adjust the dress to Kalanny's small waist. The end result really looked beautiful to me, and of course Kalanny loved it.
Finally, we took advantage of my mother's garden to take some pictures of Kalanny modeling her new dress. I hope you like this new creation. Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.
