La ciudad donde vivo, Florianópolis, está repleta de lugares maravillosos. Es un paraíso natural, lleno de maravillas que todavía, nueve meses despuús de llegado aquí, no alcanzo a conocer. Elegí Florianópolis porque se alineaba con una de mis más incondicionales pasiones, y a la vez de las menos satisfechas: el senderismo. Me encanta sumergirme en la naturaleza, descubrir cosas, conocer nuevos lugares y sobre todo, hacer fotos de esos lugares. Desafortunadamente, muchas veces no tengo el tiempo suficiente (a veces tampoco tengo la voluntad, no nos engañemos), porque es una actividad que suele tomar el día entero, y mi trabajo no es precisamente ligero...suelo llegar destrozado a mi día de descanso!
Pero de vez en cuando logro dejar todo de lado y aventurarme en alguna expedición. Esta vez fue al sendero de la playa de Saquinho, que está casi en el límite sur de la isla de Florianópolis. La idea surgió de mi amiga Adriana, también enamorada de la naturaleza, como yo. Ella me hizo la invitación y basta decir que no hubo necesidad de insistir.
El sendero comienza en la playa de Solidão, y atraviesa kilómetros y kilómetros de montaña en medio de la naturaleza más espectacular, hasta llegar a la playa de Saquinho. No soy realmente un fan de las playas más que como paisajes y materia prima para fotos, raramente me verás chapoteando en el mar. Pero el sitio es maravilloso y vale la pena todo el esfuerzo para llegar a él.
En el camino de ida, y también a la vuelta, nos cruzamos con muchas personas de varias nacionalidades que hacían el trayecto en parejas, en familia, con niños y hasta con perros, de todos los tamaños y colores. Me cuenta Adri que es uno de los lugares más lindos y populares de la isla. Yo no puedo hacer otra cosa que creerle.
The city where I live, Florianópolis, is full of wonderful places. It is a natural paradise, full of wonders that I still have not been able to discover, nine months after arriving here. I chose Florianópolis because it aligned with one of my most unconditional passions, and at the same time one of the least satisfied: hiking. I love immersing myself in nature, discovering things, seeing new places and, above all, taking photos of those places. Unfortunately, many times I don't have enough time (sometimes I don't have the will either, let's not fool ourselves), because it is an activity that usually takes the whole day, and my work is not exactly light... I usually arrive destroyed to my resting day!
But from time to time I manage to put everything aside and venture out on an expedition. This time it was to the Saquinho beach trail, which is almost at the southern limit of the island of Florianópolis. The idea came from my friend Adriana, who is also in love with nature, like me. She extended the invitation to me and suffice it to say that there was no need to insist.
The trail begins at Solidão beach, and crosses kilometers and kilometers of mountains in the middle of the most spectacular nature, until it reaches Saquinho beach. I'm not really a fan of beaches other than as landscapes and photo fodder, you'll rarely see me splashing around in the sea. But the place is wonderful and worth all the effort to get there.
On the way there, and also on the way back, we met many people of various nationalities who made the journey in couples, as a family, with children and even with dogs, of all sizes and colors. Adri tells me that it is one of the most beautiful and popular places on the island. I can't do anything but believe her.
