Cinephiles are getting spoilt for choice with the set of Movies and TV shows that are getting released in this second quarter of the year. I've dug through a few that are really thrilling and it's about time I shine more light on those for the viewing pleasure of the cinephiles on the Blockchain.
This is a Movie review I drafted for an action-packed movie which was released on Cinema last month. The movie got some hype from lovers of intense action Movies and the synopsis felt quite intriguing. So, I decided to give it a watch and it turned out really good. Some would even say it's underrated. Hehe.
Let's dig in already;
Movie: Boy Kills World
Genre: Action, Thriller
Release Date: April 26, 2024
Runtime: 1h 51m
The show introduces us to "Boy", an interesting character with a very wild inner thought, as we watch his gradual transformation from a young innocent boy to a lethal killer. His trainer is a mysterious shaman and both of them hid in the depths of a forest and trained for years to turn boy into an instrument of death.
I like the idea of watching folks go through training and it's always nice to see the impact of that training as they sharpen their fighting skill to embark on a wild revenge journey. Boy was being trained to embark on that same journey against the organization that killed his family when he was still a kid.
To be fair, there's nothing new about a revenge story. However, this show managed to present a lead character who's deaf and has an interesting inner voice which is both childish and hilarious in each monologue. Despite the seriousness of the theme of the movie and the goriness displayed in the action sequences, this Movie still maintained a great deal of hilarious moments which served as good comic relief.
Have a look at the above trailer...
This ultra-violent action movie has really cool stunts fitted into the fight scenes. I wasn't expecting a lot of twists and turns in the storytelling as Boy sets out on his revenge journey. However, the twists came in rapid succession. The final quarter of the Movie is filled with one mind-blowing revelation after another. It was done with dramatic brilliance.
The casting for this show is lit...
Yayan Ruhian who played the role of a mysterious shaman in this Movie is a perfect casting. He is a legit Indonesian martial artist and his works speak for itself. His performance in this Movie is spot-on and also unique. There's something about his on-screen aura in the movie. It almost felt like the drunken shifus from the Chinese Movies of two decades ago.
Andrew Koji is another interesting casting in this Movie. He's actually my best casting in the Movie and he killed the role like a G. I've seen Andrew in a long list of Movies and TvShows and I've been a huge fan of his projects. I started watching this without knowing he was cast in it. You can imagine my excitement when he first appeared on-screen. Hehe.
Boy Kills World is a really refreshing ultra-violent action Movie and since the weekend is around the corner, you may want to add this to your watchlist and enjoy it over the weekend.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.
