I saw a writing prompt about things that need to happen for us to be happy throughout the day. It's basically a question of "the idea of what a perfect day is for you". And that's the topic I'm digging into at the moment.
With the way life is happening right now, I can imagine that it's not so easy for a day to be completely free from difficulties. Life itself is hard and it's no longer a surprise that issues pop up each day, even when we plan to have a day without any issues. They just keep coming and anyone that ties his happiness to "the absence of problems" would end up being unhappy for the vast majority of his lifetime.
I long chose to not tie my happiness to the absence of problems. Don't get me wrong though. I don't go begging for problems to come my way. I like knowing that I don't have any problems. But I'm not naively inclined to that because I already know that problems will always come. What I do instead is to be prepared to deal with any problem that shows up. My ability to deal with the problems that come my way gives me a feel-good attitude about that day.
With that in mind, a perfect day for me would be a day where the following conditions are met;
1. A day I keep to my words: I'm the biggest disciplinarian to myself and I'm also very critical of my actions. Keeping to my word is one of the things I like to do. If I make a promise to myself or to someone, I always try to fulfill that promise. Doing the opposite in any day can completely make me feel like I'm falling short of my standards.
2. A day I fulfill my responsibilities: I do take on a lot of reasonable responsibilities in my personal life, in my relationship with people, and in my career. Once I take on a responsibility, I never need to be reminded that I need to get things done. I just do it, even when I don't feel like doing so. Any day I fail to take my responsibility seriously usually feels like a bad day.
3. Any day I'm sure that my family is in good health: Yesterday was a tough day in this regard. My Mum who doesn't miss a working day had to sit back at home because of a boil that formed in her ear. I tried to stay calm and know how critical her condition was. Thankfully, one of my sisters was at home to take care of her. The point is that even when life is happening, knowing that my family is in good health is enough positivity for a day.
It's a shame that people are getting accustomed to working round the clock while they earn peanuts for their work. Thinking about that usually gives me a sour taste. So, being able to earn figures that align with the work I do is one of the things I would like to experience. That would make it easier to face each new working day as it comes.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.
