I can relate to eating compulsively too.
When I am ill with a cold or flu I often crave Chicken broth or soup.
Dealing with Stress or Anxiety used to be sweet chocolates but since I am pre-diabetic I tend to go for potato & Egg salad. Ideally foods rich in nutrients supporting brain function. (Actually semi sweet dark chocolate has Flavonoids, caffeine and Omega 3 fatty acids that can do that 😁)
So whether we eat out of sickness, or habit we still want feel well.
