I WISH I KNEW SOONER

My current job has exposed me to a wide range of things I never knew I needed. I'm just an ordinary ICT personnel who people expect a lot from and sometimes I wonder if I am capable of meeting up to those expectations. In 2018 during my 2nd year in the higher institution, I had started learning computer programming, but I never really took it seriously. Perhaps it was because the person my dad paid to teach me then didn't make it as interesting as I imagined it to be. Fast-forward to 2020, I started leaving with friends who were programmers but didn't major in it. They were majorly into Web design, and UI UX and that was how I began my journey professionally as a web designer.

Today, I have discovered that it's best to merge a web designer with a web developer. I'm Better at using third party design tools like WordPress than coding from scratch. I would need to learn a good number of programming language with professional basics in HTML, JavaScript, SQL, C#, and Python. Others can follow, but every developer must have a really good knowledge in these programming languages. Truth be told these programming languages are very expensive to learn and time consuming too. But either way I have only been able to acquire basic JavaScript and HTML knowledge coupled with the C++ programming language I learned in the higher institution.

Today I wish every single day I had the access and time to learn these basic five and others I can only imagine. In recent weeks I've had to deal with pro hackers invading my company's privacy and using our servers. Despite the effort to disrupt the attack, I wish I could build my own firmware and shut them out completely but unfortunately I do not have the skill to do that. I've had to rely on the security WordPress provides as well as a lot of help from my friends with knowledge in ethical hacking. I still try to learn from them, but considering the time I am learning with the activities I have at hand and bills to pay, I must admit it's not the same as it would have been if I was able to learn in 2018 or 2020.

I also haven't gotten around it yet either. It does require some level of dedication. If a firmware would do the trick, do you think outsourcing the job could save you a lot of daily hassle?

Outsourcing a firmware would cost a lot. And I'm not sure my company would be willing to pay $100 to $200 daily maintaining that. At least seeing they do not have any user software that would contain user data such tight security would not be appreciated.

If I knew how to do it, I would have probably done it for them at a far more discounted rate

Well I believe it is not yet too late. You can still invest so much of time to actually learn it

Yeah, right.

Programming languages could be expensive to learn but they are hot cakes if landed a job in that field. They say it isn't too late to venture into whatever we want to learn.

Yeah, but it's easier learning than than now

Me, I don't think this coding of a thing is something I'd like. I do find it fascinating but I'd rather not start what I wouldn't be able to finish, you know. Data analysis and the likes is more my speed.

I also want to learn Data analysis and data science. If you leave me I will learn everything
