SPLINTERLANDS SOCIAL MEDIA CHALLENGE (NO STRATEGY)

in #hive-18430916 hours ago

I decided to try a no strategy approach and like I expected it backfired. Although I am not surprised, I did so because I was having very few cards for the battle having not been able to rent cards for personal reasons. However even with a loss, I got to learn a thing or two from my opponents strategy. I wondered if I would have won if I had the cards I needed, I even argued within myself that I would have won outright, but then like I have always said, whether I win or lose would not only depend on my high cards alone, but also on my strategies which consist of speed, and health. One major disadvantage I had in this battle was the fact that all my cards had very low health. I consider health from 7 downwards as low, and none of my cards had up to that.

With that in mind I decided to give up the fight even before it began and it cost me everything in that game. Although it was a guild brawl with little or no personal earnings, I ended up not being able to help my guild in that position. My opponent showed me that magic cards have great advantages over cards with Melee or ranged attacks because they can easily attack from any position, even the first position and would not be affected by thorns because they wouldn't have to come close. If the magic attack monster has good enough speed, then a win is almost certain. Considering this, my opponent opted for magic attackers with high speed and much health leaving me with little or no chance of fighting back. Another thing that made me give up was seeing the rule set ensured all monsters starts the battle poisoned, and if I had the cards I needed, I would have put a cleansing monster to neutralize the poison on the monster in first position while I strategize a healing ability for that monster.

But then I wonder if that would stand a good chance against. my opponents magic attackers. Still, I know this strategy would do a lot of damage to my opponent stalling and healing while the poison does the rest. This is why I always ensure that I have monsters with plenty of health, seeing I didn't have such monsters alongside the rule set. I knew if my opponent brings an average strategy with at least two monsters with good health, I would be easily beaten. And like I imagined, so it was. There was no issue fighting back, if it were to be a physical game, I would have just surrendered before the battle began. My opponent started with the monster Lord Thanalor having the amplifier, snipe and fury ability alongside a good enough amount of health and speed.

Halfling Refugee obviously stood no chance against Lord Thanalor with both in first position, I already saw myself losing, especially because Lord Thanalor has magic ability. My opponent also put Mycelic Slipspawn in fourth position, diverting all attacks to it and giving other monsters ability to attack. This put me more in disadvantage and gave my opponent all the advantages with multiple magic attackers. Goblin Psychic sealed everything for my opponent, giving the healing ability and subduing my attacks. The only vulnerable monsters in my opponent's team were Djinn Blijka and Queen Mycelia. Katrelba Gibson wasn't a weak monster at all despite having little health because of speed and being a gladiator card with the bloodshot ability and double strikes. With that it was obvious that I never stood a chance to begin with. But then it was a learning process for me.

Truth be told the splinterlands game is very unpredictable, but that’s just what makes it fun and if you think you will like to try out all the amazing experiences, feel free to join in here
