Be Grateful

in #hive-1735752 months ago

I was just having a conversation with a friend, and we talked about so many things. It was a beautiful period, as we had seen each other for months and we were just catching up. I have been thinking about a particular topic we talked about, which is gratitude.

Gratitude, as we know, is about being thankful for something or to someone for what they have done for you. We know that a simple thank you is an act of gratitude. So saying thank you is pretty easy, and we say it when someone does something for us. This has always been my own view about gratitude.

But discussing with my friend, he told me a story of how he helped a friend of his, and the friend said thank you. But the friend turned around and badmouthed my friend. He completely looked down on the assistance that was given to him. He started telling people that my friend gave him only half of the amount he had asked for. For me, this is an act of ingratitude.

Gratitude is important, and we should learn how to be grateful, not mind if the help given or the gift received measures up to what we expected. I strongly believe before someone renders help or gives us a gift, it comes out of love. How would you feel helping someone, and then you realize the person made a mockery of your help?

Let us learn gratitude; it helps to open doors for us. Sometimes we might not see it as something that is important. I remember a friend that helped me some years back. I saw him recently and still thanked him for the assistance he gave me years ago. He smiled, and he recommended me for a job, from which I made some profit.

Gratitude to most is just saying thank you, and we just feel it's a light thing that no value is attached to, but let us all know that great value is attached to it. Gratitude is important, and we should make it a habit.
