Greetings!
On Tuesday morning, when I woke up, I went to YouTube to check a page I follow for their latest video. Along the line, I stumbled upon a video comparing Mr. P and Rudeboy's performances. I settled down to watch, and one thing the YouTuber said that gladdened my heart was acknowledging how these two were once the biggest musical duo in Africa. That’s just the simple truth. During their time as a group, Psquare, no individual or group was close to their level.
They emerged in an era when the internet wasn't as popular as it is now, a time when CDs and DVDs were the primary modes of playing music. Remarkably, all their tracks on every album were singable and relatable, unlike these days, when artists release albums with only two or three hit songs.
In case you don't know, these two Mr P(Peter) and Rudeboy(Paul) are biological twins.🔥
I could go on and on about the good old days. I am glad I was born in their time because I can’t imagine missing the fire in those songs.
In today’s #ttt, I’ll be sharing some of their evergreen songs:
Do Me:
This song, even today, whenever it comes on, people—even those born in this era—immediately start singing along. That just shows how timeless the song is. It’s a massive hit. This song brings back so many memories. The beat and everything about it are evergreen. Even 20 years from now, it’ll still be a big hit in clubhouses.
Personally:
This song is among their tracks that sold out greatly because of its video. It has one of the best video displays—classic and well-crafted. The dances were carefully choreographed and incredibly entertaining. And, lest I forget, it’s a song dedicated to Michael Jackson, showcasing how his dance style motivated them, especially Peter, to embrace their signature moves.
Bizzy Body (Remix):
This song brings back memories of playing it repeatedly to the point where my siblings would get annoyed. But there was nothing they could do because I was the eldest and in charge of the DVD remote! I absolutely love this song. The freestyle is top-notch, and the fast, danceable beat adds magic to the track. That’s why I prefer it to the original version, even though the original is highly rated too because It remains one of the top songs from their first album.
The thing is, when talking about Psquare, it’s very hard to settle on their best songs because all their tracks were massive hits.
Thanks for reading!
