Identity crisis affects a bulk of the world's population. It is also called Psychological state or mental state. it is a period of uncertainty and confusion in which a person's sense of identity becomes insecure, typically due to a change in their expected aims or role in society.
In the popular conception of an identity crisis, an identity crisis may have additional features: major life change, such as graduating from college, a shift in a person's values or life path, a developmental change outside of adolescence, such as getting married, age or advancement from a certain stage. These big changes or stressors in life psychologically tend to adjust the real logical approach which people should tackle this issue with.
—Someone had lost his job multiple times. His girlfriend broke up with him as a result of that. That not being enough, he just got diagnosed of cancer.—
This is an illustration of something that can lead to psychological state or identity crisis.
How best does a situation you can think of fit into this topic?
Like we all know, there's no problem without a solution.
Here's a few things that can help;
- Find you: There's help in the shelf but there's more help in yourself. This is the toughest though. You get to Take some time out to really look within yourself and ask yourself some questions about you — what you like and don't like anymore. What's triggers you to feel this way.
Ask yourself these questions and see if you can answer them over time and if the answers help you figure things out but bear this in mind, you don't have to have all the answers (If you did you won't be in this) and your answers may get change with intervals.
- Create your joy: What intrigues you? everyone has that one thing that gets them intrigued. Maybe watching movies, TV shows, or eating, exercising, taking a walk. dancing, jogging, etc. whatever you find solace in. This too might not make the bulk of the switch.
- Seek Help: Having good social support can help influence how well you cope with big changes, stressors, or questions of identity. Seek help from friends, family, a club group, mental health facility or sports.
There are more but I'll pause here for the time being. If this was helpful, upvote and share with a friend that needs to see it.
