I just now realized that I never got to publish photos from Debbie's birthday shoot last year. That's such a huge oversight considering how mindblowing those photos were. We created very stunning photos, inarguably some of the best portraits I created last year. I had set the bar pretty high and was tasked to go even higher this year.
We almost didn't get to do any shoot this year as Debbie felt very indifferent about her birthday. It was kind of surprising because Debbie is always excited about a photoshoot whenever I invite her for one, not to mention her birthday. I couldn't make out what was bothering her, but I was able to offer her some encouragement and she agreed to do a shoot.
Since there was no initial plan on her side for a birthday shoot this year, there were no arrangements made with regard to outfits, styling, and the creative direction for the shoot. We had less than a week to plan and put everything together. We had to bring in our other friend Brea. Brea is such a handful(as I've iterated in several posts about her). The inclusion of Brea meant that we had most of the bases covered, that is; makeup, outfit, and styling. I was left to bother about the creative direction for the shoot.
Shoot day came and I hadn't really planned out anything. I was trusting that since Debbie was such an outstanding model, we were going to create good photos regardless. This time I wasn't trying to outdo what I had done last year. I just wanted to create good stuff.
As the shoot progressed amazing ideas started to flood my head. I tried everything as they came to me. These are the results;
I was very pleased with the results from this shoot. I met the expectations I had set and that's a great thing. I also think I outdid myself on what I did last year. Maybe I'll share those ones later.
