Hello everyone.
How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. In this post, I take everyone to see another temple in Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai. This temple is called Wat Sila At. Interesting story of Wat Sila At. Wat Sila At is a rural common monastery of the Khai Nok village community. This temple was built 101 years ago or AD 1923. And the temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree on 24 March 1969 or 55 years ago.
My wife and I visited this temple 2 months ago. This temple is about 50 kilometers from our house. This trip my wife was the driver and I took the photos. We traveled on highway 107 from our district (Fang District) to Mae Ai District. Then we traveled on rural road 3023, Mae Na Wang Subdistrict, Mae Ai District to the temple. We see nature and farms. Before taking everyone to see Wat Sila At. I would like to share scenery on roads of this trip with everyone. And these are some of the scenery photos from the trip.
Interesting highlights of the temple.
Entrance arch of the temple. The temple has 2 entrances. And there are entrance arches made of bricks plastered with cement at both entrances. The front entrance arch is decorated with beautiful gold color stucco patterns and has a temple sign.
The side entrance arch is decorated with gold color stucco patterns too, but simple.
The buddha image hall (viharn) of temple. This buddha image hall (viharn) outstanding with beautiful and multi-colored stucco decoration. We really like the colorful stucco pattern of this buddha image hall (viharn). Especially the stucco pattern on the doors of the buddha image hall (viharn). And the oil painting in front of the buddha image hall (viharn) is beautiful as well. The stairs to the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn) are serpent statue stairs like most temples.
The ordination hall (ubosot) of temple. The ordination hall (ubosot) of almost every temple is smaller than the buddha image hall (viharn), this temple too. And this ordination hall (ubosot) is decorated more simply than the buddha image hall (viharn) but beautiful. The entrance stairs is a stairs with no serpent statue.
The pagoda of this temple is another beautiful and outstanding pagoda. We can see this pagoda from a distance. In front of the pagoda there is a buddha images, the statues and a small pagoda.
The bell tower of the temple is a two-story white bell tower.
The many statues inside the temple are also interesting.
Finally a large pavilion and section containing the monks' living quarters. I don't often take pictures of the section containing the monks' living quarters. Because I don't want to disturb the monks.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
