Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. Two weeks ago, I went to visit my mother in Nonthaburi province alone (Distance approximately 850 kilometers). That time I had the opportunity to travel to Bangkok too. Bangkok is my hometown. And I used to live in this province for over 30 years before moving to Nonthaburi Province and Chiang Mai Province. So i have many good memories and good times here. Especially the tourist attractions that I have visited. When I think of these tourist attractions it is happy. I haven't traveled alone in Bangkok for a long time. So i intend to visit many tourist attractions that have good memories of my past. One of them is Wat Rakhang Kositaram Woramahawihan. The first time I visited this temple was over 20 years ago with my father and mother. I had a great time and happy my father and mother at this temple. So I want to visit this temple again. Even if it is to visit this temple alone. My father died and my mother was sick. But this visit, it is a good memory of me and this temple forever.
Wat Rakhang Kositaram Woramahawihan is a large and important royal temple in Bangkok. This temple is an ancient temple built since the Ayutthaya period. The original name of this temple was called Wat Bang Wa Yai.
Some atmospheres inside Wat Rakhang Kositaram Woramahawihan. I only visited 2 areas of this temple : the section containing the chapel and the courtyard area outside the section containing the chapel. There are several entrance doors to the section containing the chapel. And these entrance doors have beautiful arches.
When entering the section containing the chapel, There is a large ordination hall (ubosot). This ordination hall (ubosot) is in the central region style, which looks clearly different from the northern region ordination hall (ubosot). But I think the ordination hall (ubosot) looks beautiful as well. Although I like the ordination hall (ubosot) of the northern region more.
The inside of the ordination hall (ubosot) looked grand and beautiful. Especially old oil paintings that are more than 100 years old. And the beautiful main buddha image. This main buddha image is a buddha in the attitude of meditation. Made of bronze.
Beside this large ordination hall (ubosot) is a small old ordination hall (ubosot). And behind the small ordination hall (ubosot) is a large buddha image in the attitude of subduing mara.
Around the large ordination hall (ubosot) there are several small white pagodas.
There is also another large white pagoda.
Within the section containing the chapel there are also three small pavilions for religious ceremonies. And inside each pavilion there is the buddha images.
The courtyard outside the section containing the chapel. There was one large gold color bell and many small bells. And there is a statue of a instructor monk. Which is a famous and important monk of the country in the past.
Wat Rakhang Kositaram Woramahawihan is next to the Chao Phraya River. You can see the atmosphere of the Chao Phraya River. The main river of the country. This area has a small pavilion too.
Finally the area of the section containing the monks' living quarters and other. I didn't go inside.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
