Hello Everyone! Happy Weekend!
Today, on All Saints' Day, we visited the cemetery to honor our beloved family members and friends who have passed away. We brought flowers and food as offerings, a tradition deeply rooted in our respect and remembrance of those who have gone before us. Since we were busy with prayers and preparations, I wasn’t able to take a photos. In addition to visiting our own family’s graves, we made a point of walking around the cemetery to pay our respects to the loved ones of our friends, keeping their memories alive.
In Filipino culture, visiting a wake or a cemetery is always accompanied by the custom of pagpag. According to this belief, you must avoid going straight home afterward to prevent any spirits from following you. To observe this superstition, we made a stop at Jollibee instead. It’s common to visit an establishment like a convenience store or a restaurant to perform pagpag, ensuring that any lingering spirits don’t find their way to our house. At Jollibee, not only did we have lunch, but we also took part in some light-hearted Halloween fun.
The Jollibee we visited had a special booth set up in one corner, decorated with Halloween-themed ornaments and costumes for people to pose with and take pictures. When we spotted it, we eagerly took turns capturing photos. At first, we felt a bit shy since we were the only ones posing. However, soon after we started, other customers began lining up to take photos, too. It seemed like they were simply waiting for someone to break the ice.
