It's a perfect day

Just as we have different interests, everyone has different definitions of a perfect day. For some people, a perfect day means partying with friends, for some days it means reading their favourite books without distractions but one thing we can all agree on is that for a day to be perfect, it means we do the things we find fun and interesting. For someone like me who usually follows a similar routine every day, a perfect day might mean going through that routine without something disrupting it. So, I'm going to talk about the things that should be present for me to be happy throughout the day.

Electricity

For people in countries with constant power supply, it might be surprising that I'm mentioning this first but here in Nigeria, the power supply is very epileptic and for someone who spends most of the time working with their laptop, there's always a need for power. I work as a freelancer and part of my daily routine involves working on different tasks with my laptop, but I usually do that when there is power supply. I'm also a software engineer and currently an intern.

That involves writing codes and meeting deadlines which I also need my laptop and good power supply for. Sometimes there are power outages for days and luckily for me that hasn't happened since I became an intern but I am already seeing that happening one of these days and it's keeping me worried. Electricity is very important for my daily activities to progress smoothly, it being absent just for a day can totally disrupt my routine, and that's one thing I hate.

My phone

Yes I will say it, I'm addicted to my phone 😅 I probably should have mentioned this first but I guess it's still okay that I'm talking about it now. My phone is VERY important because most of the things I do daily depend on it functioning fine. I work from home and my phone is what makes that possible because I connect to the Internet with it (my laptop connects to my phone's WiFi hotspot). Maybe I wouldn't put much importance on my phone if I had a router or something (maybe Starlink) but even at that, my favourite game is still on my phone; Mobile Legends

There was a day when my phone got spoilt. It was a Sunday morning and I woke up to a black screen. I was miserable all through the day as I couldn't even do anything with my laptop except to watch movies and I don't know how to watch movies for long (I prefer gaming). I quickly rushed to fix the phone the next day 😅 My phone is a big part of my daily routine, so it has to be present for my day to be considered perfect.

Food

Who doesn't like food? I think I will even rank food above my phone and electricity right now because even if those other two are present and there's no food, I won't be able to utilize them properly. I can't focus on my tasks or play games on my phone while I'm very hungry, so food is definitely more important. Yesterday, I got carried away with a coding project I was given because I was trying to beat the deadline to the extent that I had to eat breakfast at noon. I would have even continued working on the project if hunger hadn't started to shut my eyes 😂

So, I had to pause first, eat some food to get some energy, and then continue with my work. I just imagine if for whatever reason I can't get access to food in a day, I won't be able to do much except force myself to sleep to cope with the hunger. Food isn't something that is even considered optional in life, it is very necessary for survival.

Anyway, that is it. Those are the things that have to go right for me to consider a day perfect and a perfect day to me means doing everything I set out to do. Like I said earlier, I have a daily routine and these 3 things I mentioned are very necessary for my routine to go smoothly. I guess I should have added not having any unplanned activities that just pop up in the middle of the day, those are some of the things that disrupt my routine; something unplanned comes up and I start wondering where to put it in my schedule 😅. There are probably other things I didn't mention but the ones I talked about are the most important.

Considerable supply of power is enough to keep us smiling in this country. With the nature of your job, you can't do without phone, pc and electricity. What part of software engineering is your focus ?

Food is verrrrry important, I like food and I love cooking myself. Our body function properly when we eat good food and our brain is super active.

I focus on frontend web development

I couldn't agree more about food; it’s essential for keeping both our bodies and minds in top shape 👌 thanks for stopping by

I am currently learning frontend development; I'm in CSS at the moment though I should have passed this but my pc is faulty.

You are welcome.

Friends are very important in our life's.

Thanks 😊

Most welcome.

You know what's really interesting about our demand for Electricity in this part of the world? Even someone like myself who is now using Solar energy as my primary source of energy still enjoys electricity supply from PHCN. It's just that important. Haha.

My phone is also very valuable to me oooo. It's a big part of my day-to-day activities.

Solar is one of my big goals right now because I know there's no way I can rely on PHCN for sufficient electricity, they always disappoint. Thanks for stopping by
