Hive is an amazing place to be, and I am forever grateful. I am not going to be walking away again. I have found purpose here and that will not change. I thoroughly enjoy blogging here every single day and I spend most of my time on LeoFinance. Now that I'm comfortable with my blogging... It's time to broaden my horizons a bit. I'm taking a dive into Blurt Blog. Maybe I'll give Noise.Cash a try next.
Blurt.Blog time
I've been hearing about Blurt here and there from different users around Hive. @offgridlife was someone that mentioned it multiple times and I kept saying I was going to check it out and never did. Hell, even @actifit made a post not too long ago about integrating Blurt's blockchain so you can post your fitness tracking there. I cannot ignore it any longer! It's time for your boi NiftyPhill to start blogging on Blurt. What will I post? Hell I dunno. I kinda wanna go back through some of my older posts here and archive them on Blurt's blockchain so I'll probably redo at minimum my "Crypto Noobs" series of posts. Probably photography, 3d printing shit, and who knows what else... It's exciting to have the opportunity to start fresh in a sense. Anyway - here's my Blurt profile. As you can see, I'm a complete noob with only one post. I did, however, log in with Ready Player Me and set my avatar that I created when I checked out Somnium Space. Pretty sick. I look way cooler as an avatar.
The interface is very similar to the old Proof of Brain before the recent upgrade. Even feels familiar to the old Hive.blog site. Peakd and LeoFinance have really spoiled me in terms of User Interface. Anyway - I spent some time exploring the different trending tags and got a feel for the site. It seems that short form content is the way here. Maybe I'll be doing a lot of photography shit. Post rewards are by default 25% liquid and 75% powered up. I actually like this model a lot because it gives less opportunity to sell tokens. I also like that there are small transaction fees on every interaction. I love Hive's no fee system but having a small fee is a good deterrent for spam. There's also no downvoting. I know downvoting is a controversial topic so I'll just say this.... It exists for a reason and it shouldn't be abused.
I found out I had 56 BLURT sitting in my wallet so I went ahead and did my first power up. You can't expect to earn without a little bit of power. Just like Hive, BLURT is converted to Blurt Power by powering up which stakes it to your wallet. In order to get liquid BLURT back, you must power down over the course of a month. You can earn author rewards by posting and commenting. You can earn curation rewards by voting. Nothing new to us here on Hive. I just love that there's another platform for us to take advantage of. As someone who's self employed, having another way to earn is amazing. I'm not looking to make a fortune, I just want to earn and stack. BLURT is burned with ever single transaction which is pretty unique. I am excited to get involved with another blockchain and explore the audience over there. Do you Blurt? Give me a follow!
Thanks for reading! Much love.
