Behold our full array of dishes, nicely laid out around the centrepiece of what is our hotpot soup base, just waiting to be dipped into and cooked. Yum!
I love the large varieties of sauces and ingredients you can use to your heart's content to make your own perfect dipping sauce.
This robot server who looks a bit like Wall-E was bringing trays of food to every table.
This beautifully shaped and plated item is actually prawn paste with fish roe. It's delicious after it's cooked.
Thinly sliced beef shabu.
Pork Jowl. The best cut of a pig in my opinion.
Slices of fish
A fried snack of beancurd skin with fish paste inside.
Another snack of fried pork strips.
Time to tuck in!
It looks like my Japanese dinner streak has finally been broken. Though that wasn't due to my lack of wanting it, but more of a request to try something else for a change. I couldn't quite decide what to eat thus we went for hotpot at Haidilao. There, everyone could easily just pick whatever ingrediets they wanted. World Peace? :)
I do like eating at Haidilao. Their service is generally of a pretty high standard and they do provide lots of snacks, sides that are "free flow". Although "free" is highly debatable since we're usually paying a premium to eat here compared to other hotpot restaurants.
At the end of the day, as long as everyone has enjoyed that meal and we've all managed to sit down to have a good time, I think that's all that matters. :)
