Hello Hive World!
I am happy to be here and slowly trying to find my way around since my Introduction post. This is my first post in the Ladies of Hive Community and I feel at home already because I am among my kind. 😊
The questions for this week's contest are timely being the beginning of a new year. Thank you @kaerpediem for these questions. I will answer the two below.
I was in church with my family for the New Year's eve crossover service when the bell was jiggled to signify our entrance into the new year. The whole auditorium was agog with excitement. Friends and family rushed around to hug each other and I did the same with my family.
I was very happy and thankful to God for the gift of life and seeing a new year. I reminisced to all that my family went through in year 2021 and in answer to this question, I am most grateful for my family.
2021 was not an easy year for us. My husband faced a lot of challenges at work and towards the end, my sons fell ill one after the other because of our harsh weather. It was unbearably hot around October to November. Despite my efforts as a mother to make my sons healthy and comfortable, they became ill and were hospitalized.
As a mother, I was very unhappy. It breaks my heart whenever anything happens to them but I thank God that within few days, they recovered and we returned home.
Now, things are getting better and my boys are healthy and enjoying their holiday before they resume school soon. I am happy when my family are healthy and happy.
It's easy to say so many nice things about ourselves but one nice thing about me that I will write about is my level-headedness. Growing up, my parents and siblings always complained about my being too slow to make decisions.
Its not in my nature to be impatient or rush to do things. My husband too says the same thing about me but he appreciates that this part of me helped us severally from getting into trouble or suffering any financial loss.
I like to take my time and examine a situation properly before I make my decision. Time may pass but when I eventually make up my mind, it turns out right most times.
Of course, I have made mistakes which has helped me to learn to be more patient. I see this part of me as a nice thing. Rushing to make decisions gets us into problems almost everytime. Patience is everything, in my humble opinion.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I invite Ms @emstone to participate in this contest. Thank you.
