Hola a todos!!! Anhelo contarles de mi primera experiencia en Soroa, ubicada al occidente de Cuba. Solamente puedo decirles que es indescriptible la sensación que experimenté al ver tanta belleza natural concentrada en un mismo lugar. Literalmente es un paraíso en La Tierra; donde la frescura, la quietud y la hermosura; deleitan a sus visitantes. Es entonces que entiendo, con lujo de detalles, por qué constituye territorio Reserva de la Biosfera.
Perhaps you have heard the saying.... "He who wants the sky, let it cost him", and so it was. On our journey, our goal was to climb very high until we reached the Castillo de las Nubes (Castle of the Clouds). The viewpoint is about 250 meters above sea level. We climbed on foot, and halfway up, I threw myself on the ground, exhausted by the fatigue, the heat and the weight of my backpack. And there I had decided to stay because I had no strength to continue.
Tal vez hayan escuchado ese dicho que manifiesta... "El que quiere celeste, que le cueste", y así mismo fue. En nuestra travesía, nos pusimos por meta subir bien alto hasta lograr alcanzar el mismísimo Castillo de las Nubes. El mirador está a unos 250 metros de altura sobre el nivel del mar. Subimos a pie, y a medio camino me tiré en el suelo fatigada entre el cansancio, el calor, el peso de mi mochila. Y ahí había decidido quedarme pues no tenía fuerzas para continuar.
Many passed me by and continued on their way, while I remained suffocated lying on the ground. But not Rafa, Rafa is one of the friends who accompanied me on my adventure in Soroa. He did not hesitate to take me by the arm, help me up, put my backpack on his shoulder and literally push me until I reached the agreed goal.
I took with me a beautiful memory of that moment and three very profound teachings:
- In our passage through life we may run out of strength to continue, we may feel that we can't go on and that we are not going to make it. But God always puts on our way those "Rafa's" that with a tender smile reach out to us and push us to the goal.
- Personally, it is up to us to decide what kind of people we will be for others: we will be those who look at someone in need and follow their path or we will be those "Rafa" who even when they are also tired and fatigued, draw strength to help others to reach the goal.
- I urgently need to start in a Gym hahaha
Muchos me pasaron por al lado y continuaron su camino, mientras yo permanecía sofocada tendida en el suelo. Pero Rafa no, Rafa es uno de los amigos que me acompañó en mi aventura en Soroa. El no vaciló en tomarme del brazo, ayudarme a levantarme, ponerse mi mochila al hombro y literalmente empujarme hasta llegar a la meta pactada.
Me llevé un lindo recuerdo de ese momento y tres enseñanzas muy profundas:
1. En nuestro paso por la vida puede que quedemos sin fuerzas para continuar, puede que sintamos que no podemos más y que no lo vamos a lograr. Pero Dios siempre nos pone en el camino esos "Rafa" que con una tierna sonrisa nos tienden la mano y nos impulsan hasta la meta.
2. En lo personal nos toca decidir qué tipo de personas seremos para los demás: seremos aquellos que miran a alguien en necesidad y siguen su camino o seremos esos "Rafa" que aún cuando están también cansados y fatigados, sacan fuerzas para ayudar a otros a llegar a la meta.
3. Necesito urgente comenzar en un Gimnasio, jajaja.

Y si me preguntan si valió la pena tanto sacrificio y tanto caminar prácticamente sin aliento, pues... imágenes como la anterior hablan por sí solas.
And the perfect seal for this beautiful adventure was a refreshing swim in the Soroa waterfall. The water was very cold, so much so, that we were a little afraid to dive in completely. But once we did, we had an unforgettable and very pleasant experience. I hope to return soon to that magical place, where the mountains touch the clouds.
Y el sello perfecto para esta linda aventura, fue un refrescante baño en la cascada de Soroa. El agua estaba muy fría, tanto, que nos daba un poco de miedo sumergirnos completamente. Pero una vez que lo hicimos, obtuvimos una experiencia inolvidable y muy agradable. Espero pronto volver a ese mágico lugar, donde las montañas tocan las nubes.
