This has been a strange sort of winter.
Having little to no snow can be quite common where I'm from, it really just depends on the year. In terms of temperature though, it is generally always quite cold in February. This winter has been a little unusual in that regard.
January and February are typically the coldest months for us, but the past few weeks leading up to this point have been unseasonably warm. The temperature was hovering at around 8-10°C for quite a while and a few of the days it even reached up to 12-14°C. Forget the winter parka on those days, it was practically T-shirt weather!
It has been a little cooler the last few days again and today it actually snowed. I found out when I left work and saw it on the ground. That might say something about my work, perhaps I spend too much time in an office without windows?
Speaking of work, side tracked! I saw the helicopter taking off the other day. I watched it for a moment from one of the stairwells.
It's one of those simple little things that is neat to witness at work so I try to watch it if I happen to catch it at the right time. Similarly, I've been trying to check out the sunset some mornings as well. This is a more recent thing for me when I get to work super early and have time for a 1 minute pause. There are, actually windows in the building (of course) despite what I lead on previously. There happens to be a really great one overlooking the city on the side of the sunrise right near my office just down the hall a little. Anyway, back to the snow...
The snow does look nice tonight. Like a pristine white blanket. Here is a picture of my driveway before I shoveled it.
Here is another after I shoveled. It was only a couple of centimeters this time so it didn't take me very long to clear. It was a little wet though so it would have been quite heavy if there had been anymore of it.
So, I won't bore you any longer with my ramblings about nothing (the snow) so I think I'll end this post abruptly right here...
