I'm back after a super depressing weekend in which every single result went against us!
Everton beat Chelsea. Seriously? Burnley continued their Lazarus like rise and Leeds lost 0-4 to Man. City. Nightmare. With Arsenal and Chelsea in our next two games, even my normally blind optimism is taking a pounding. Anyway, a chance to cheer myself up with today's game...
@nathen007's Prediction
Man. U continue to cling onto that Europa League place which could have been lost had West Ham, not capitulated to an in-form Arsenal side at the weekend.
Their last game was on Thursday and resulted in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea and a much better performance than seen in recent games although De Gea kept them in it with a string of fine saves and the league's joint-top scorer, Ronaldo popped up to secure the draw.
On the injury front, there will be no Jordan Sancho for the rest of the season as he has tonsilitis and is going to have them removed. Cavani is back in training but won;t be ready for tonight's game. Rumours that there will be no Ronaldo due to an accident on his Zimmer frame at his old people's home have not been confirmed...
Brentford have been great after the arrival of Christian Eriksen and Thomas Frank has said there is a big belief that they can get something out of the game. I actually think they will.
They have a number of long term injury problems including Mathias Jorgensen and Onyeka who will be out for the season but its expected that Ethan Pinnock will be back for the next game.
I love this quote..
When asked about Old Trafford's fear factor, Frank said: "That depends on the form of the team. It's more difficult to play at Anfield or the Etihad at the moment."
Hahaha...taking the piss is always good by me and with Pontus on top form, I'm expecting a good showing.
Prediction: Man.U 1 : 1 Brentford - First goalscorer: Ronaldo
Simply write the name of the FIRST GOALSCORER, the CORRECT SCORE AND the TIME OF THE FIRST GOAL as a comment. The competition closes 5 minutes before kick-off which is 20.00BST
Don't forget, you can't choose the same prediction as me!
In the first goalscorer competition, own goals do not count. In the correct score competition, it's the score after 90mins. Extra time and penalties do not count and the pot for each competition is fixed at 25K except for the time of the first goal competition which rolls over daily starting at 1K. If more than one person chooses the same first goal scorer or correct score, the prize is shared, and everyone gets a little upvote! Don't forget, you can't choose the same prediction as me! It seems I also need to add, one entry per person. Don't forget the new rule that only people with a rep of 50 or above are eligible to enter unless they have been approved. My game, my decision is final.
And the Winners Were...
Leeds lost of course so no doubling but we did have one traitor who predicted the 0-4 scoreline so a big shout out to @amakauz who takes home the 25K pot. No one got the time of the first goal which was by Rodri on 13 minutes The first goal time pot rises up again!
Well, that's your lot for today. Congratulations to @amakauz and good luck to everyone with tonight's competition. Have a great week and enjoy the game.
