Having a significant relationship with someone doesn't mean you will be together forever, you might grow apart eventually no matter how significant your relationship is. A circumstances will happen that you will have no choice than to let those you think you are inseparable go and unable to let go might hinder your growth.

No matter what the situation maybe, you have to learn and always be ready to survive alone because people you rely on can change at anytime when your situation change and that is because people change according to the situation, they only value what benefit them.
