Wow it has been 12 days since I have posted. That is my longest stretch so far probably and not something that I should let happen again. The festive season was very busy at the hotel and that was part of the reason for my delay in posting. I am also preparing for my traditional marriage, moving and my parents coming to visit. Here is a little update on my life since my last post.
New Years came in with a bang and we really did our part at the beach resort. Our neighbor is a retired Pro Footballer also and he helped us light up the beach with a great fire works display.
Dzigbordi got a couple of great shots of me like this one.
My buddy was there to bring in the new year with a beer.
A little calm gathering at times.
I got things started a little slow lighting off the first roman candle at about 11pm to start to move some guests down to the beach.
At 12 we really lit it up. The neighbor also put on a great show.
The next day it was nice to enjoy some time with my friends and it was also still a busy weekend at the hotel so I had a lot of work to do.
After the new year weekend things slowed down a little bit but I still think a lot of people were on holiday because we still had some bookings. But I got a chance run to Accra to try to pick up my truck from the mechanic. That took most of the day because things are never completely ready when they need to be.
We also got a chance to pick up the Christmas Gift Dzigbordi got for me. She got me a new Google Pixel 3xl that her boss brought from the US. Below is one of the first tests I did of the night mode. I love this phone it is so smooth and integrated with loads of google apps and experiences like lens. Be prepared for some more great shots. By this time next week she will be my wife and she is already spoiling me.
The rest of the photos in this post will be from my new phone.
Another test of the low light pictures in the restaurant back at the resort.
I picked up my truck and we took a load of things from my old apartment and brought them back to the resort. We have finally got the apartment here livable as we moved in some new things. I will share some updates on the apartment when I get a chance.
Twilight is very vivid in this shot the restaurant over the grounds to the beach.
Later in the week we went to Accra again. This time we went to get another load of things for the apartment and pick up my Father from the airport the next morning. While there I went to a friends house in the evening and we had dinner. His girlfriends sister has the cutest daughter and they are good buddies.
At the airport the beach resort I work for also has a small shop that sells nice Ghana centrist items. While waiting for my dad we checked it out and Dzigbordi tried on a hat.
By the days end we were back at the resort and what better way to welcome my dad to the tropics then hit the beach and take a swim.
And it never hurts to have your own personal model for testing a new camera phone at the beach.
One night we enjoyed some cheese, baggette, guacamole, salami and beer and wine.
We had a nice weekend on the beach and we got busy enough again that Dzigbordi helped with some serving.
Our kitchen is setup enough to start cooking again. We are looking forward to some nice meals from our kitchen and garden.
I will conclude this post now as it has been another busy week and my mom has now arrived in Ghana. On Monday we will fly to Tamale for the traditional wedding I will post more on that.
