40 is one of those big birthdays and it sometimes makes you think about your life. Even though not everything is perfect it makes me appreciate those closest to me anyway. This took me back to about a month ago on the 19th of June when my wife and I celebrated 3 years together.
We decided to go to the beach and the closest beach is the resort that I managed up until the end of the year. So we went there as it is clean and beautiful. I enjoyed a beer while Bjorn played in the sand.
The little guy enjoyed himself. I took him for a swim a little later which he really loves.
We had lunch with some wine, and then I got an afternoon nap.
To top the day off I made dinner for us. I made calamari and shrimp pasta with a lemon butter sauce that was very similar to what I made for Dzigbordi on our first date. She remembers the first date one being better, but I can swear this one was the best.
Growing older would be much harder alone without these two by my side.
