Hi all
So sorry for missing the update yesterday. I had to get the foster boy rats to the vet and this morning I have to prepare two of them for neuters. I may have been having too much work thrown at me in too short a time.
Anyway, here is the big reveal!
There was a mixture of excitement and terror that flooded her being. At last, true freedom was within sight. With the memories she had been able to steal and accumulate over time, she found the grave hidden within the forest. She read the name over and over again, it meant nothing to her but meant something to the woman who was behind her.
Her sanity was barely keeping her from throwing herself at the queen behind her. She had been longing for this day since she had heard her name. When she had seen her face, it made sense why Red-Eye had wanted to get rid of her before the Fell Dragon came into contact with her. This was the last step. If she was going to lose her sanity, she was going to ensure that she could drag her opponent down to her level.
Her pack had left her hours ago, spreading throughout the universe. They would steal what power they could, but they likely wouldn’t return to her. No, she was too far gone now.
“Your pet is on Saith.” Said the woman behind her.
A shudder came over the Fell Dragon. She had never heard this voice speak without distortion of some kind.
So, this is how it sounds to others.
“I’m glad he is still alive.” She said softly.
The person behind her shifted. She was prepared to fight, a fight she failed to realise was already over.
“Why all my names? Why have your pet paint my names in blood?”
“Your names?”
“I am Saita, but I was born Samantha Kay Kaidan. Why paint both names?”
“You thought I was only having your name written?” she chuckled.
Of course, Saita wouldn’t know. There had been no records of her. She was the first of the three. She almost wished that she could enjoy what was to come, but her mind was already slipping from her.
“What?”
“My mother named me. Trying to encourage my father to love me, not that that was ever possible. No. My father always shortened my full name to the smallest possible name. It was easier to yell.”
She could almost smell the change in her opponent. She must have realised by now. She chuckled and turned to grin at the champion.
“Before people screamed my title, and cursed my existence, I was called Kay.”
The Fell Dragon enjoyed the look of horror on Saita’s face when she realised that she wasn’t just facing a monster, but her mirror image. The Fell Dragon spread her hands out and allowed the energy to drip from her fingers to make claws, but she didn’t stop there. Liquid energy crept up her back and created a helm that slotted over her head. It quickly shaped into a maw, making her look like her companion that was trapped on Saith.
“Give me freedom.” She yelled as she launched herself at the queen.
What can I say? Who else would have known her as well as herself?
